We seem to be running up against "peak" conditions on a lot of limited resources globally. With the increasing debt load I'm not sure what might happen if we get some major "bank run" type things happening on the sell off of different assets. At least in crypto, transactions could still happen so long as the network and power is available. If things go into a barter type situation crypto could be used to fill the gap between buyer and seller better than perishable commodity items like cigarettes and cans of dog food I suppose, lol.
With that said, things could really go the other way into a real abundance for many people around the world if we stop using limited resources excessively in a way that is harmful to the environment. I'm not sure what it would take but we have a virtually free distribution of all things that can be digitized. For the first time in history we could be making all human knowledge freely available and open sourced. Our social and economic systems need a reboot and what comes out of it is going to be interesting imho.

Indeed it is, I'm really excited to see what we humans come up with next, we've had a deflationary system, an inflationary system, now we are moving into a free decentralized economic system and decentralized information is free to access for everyone, where money moves around much more... AI is going to be added to the mix and, hopefully, it won't nuke our asses but will actually help us manage large scale economy and distribution of products
