I know everyone like trading but there is also some really simple way to earn some yield with your cryptocurrency.
One of those would be to borrow the funding for interest. This is motivated by the other side to take a short term directional bet on the cryptocurrency while you do not want to take the risk and lend the coin instead.
One of the centralised exchange offering the service is bitfinex (while there are some decentralised method to lend the fund, bitfinex normally gives out better interest rate - ofcourse this doesn't come free with extra risk to be bear e.g. if the exchange go down etc). The rate is around 18% now, this is like 6X of the fixed deposit you can get from the bank! But diversify your portfolio is key to keep your investment safe.
One can also examine if the spike in interest may mean a big move is coming. I may test this out one day...
