RE: We Are The Best Advocates For Steem

After all, who would not want a free pair of sneakers every 6-9 months.
And yes, there are discussions about having products like that on the Actifit marketplace over the next few months.

I think this right here is the key part of all these tokens and sites - what you can get for them. Just saying that the tokens "have value" because you can sell them on some market doesn't cut it.

First of all, it's way too difficult for most people to figure out how to trade them for STEEM, then trade that for another crypto, and then cash that out for fiat. Second of all, people will generally be much more motivated to get a free product they want that's worth a few dollars than they will be to get a few dollars in their bank account. It might sound odd but it's documented human behavior.

So the point is that I think all of these tokens and platforms will do WAY better getting people on board if they offer real products (physical or digital) in return for their tokens instead of just the ability to sell them on a market.

I'm betting your "new pair of sneakers" pitch would go over MUCH better than if you just said they could earn the amount of money that the shoes cost and have to go through a huge complicated process to even get it into fiat that they can spend.

Also, it's usually easier for a site like actifit to get deals on certain items. You might be able to get a pair of nice sneakers for $50 at a store, but a company ordering them in bulk to resell or use for promotions might be able to get them at $30 - $40 / pair, or even less in some cases, which makes the pitch that much better because it becomes "get a new pair of $50 sneakers" vs "go through a long complicated process to get $30 in your bank account which isn't even enough to buy those sneakers".

Anyway, the point is I would really love to see more of these tribes and tokens focusing on how they can add actual uses to their tokens in the form of buying some type of product with them. That will go a long way to allowing them to be "mainstream" vs just a very niche thing for techies like us.
