Splinterlands players are keeping busy. Activity levels keep growing, with the conclusion of the latest battle season bringing in new all-time activity highs. Plus, the poll results and winner's announcement from my last giveaway.
The Splinterlands keep growing
It looks like there's no stopping the Splinterlands.
Three weeks ago, @steemmonsters announced reaching all-time activity highs in the game with 35,389 matches played last June 30. But, what's really exciting is that as the latest battle season came to an end a few days ago, the game topped its previous record with another 36,022 matches played on July 15.
That's 633 more matches played at about the same time last season. Sure, that number only amounts to a 1.78% increase, plus there's the "lull" in activity levels in the middle of a battle season. But, if you look at the trend in the game's activity levels, there's a consistent and gradual increase in activity within the Splinterlands community.
It just goes to show that the Splinterlands is really one of the most fun and engaging places in the Steem Blockchain, at the moment. And with the cryptocurrency component of a blockchain-based game, it is also one of the most rewarding platforms available with multiple ways available for players and non-players to profit in the game.
It makes you wonder how activity levels will grow once new features like the game's mobile app and guilds system are launched.
dPoll Results
While we wait for the release of the mobile app and the guilds system, what has been keeping Splinterlands players busy?
It's no surprise that most voters spend their time in the game fighting in matches. Nine voters, or 30%, keep busy fighting in matches. This includes ranked matches, tournament matches, quests, challenge games, and even practice games. (This is what has been eating up most of my time in the blockchain!)
Eight voters, or 26.67%, spend most of their time either collecting, selling, or trading cards. Not only is building your deck an important part of the game, but it is also profitable. Consider this, nine months ago a Regular Foil Alpha Malric Inferno would only set you back about $0.35. Today, you will have to spend $0.80 more by paying $1.15 for one Regular Foil Alpha Malric Inferno. That's a 228% increase in card value!
Four voters, or 13.33%, spend their time transacting with DEC Tokens, which is another profitable way to spend your time in the Splinterlands. DECs, for example, has somewhat withstood the pressure of the decrease in STEEM price, making it worth your while to keep earning them, daily.
With the exception of one voter who doesn't play Splinterlands, the rest of the voters spend their time creating, consuming and curating Splinterlands-related content.
