It was almost time to die, but where was his replacement? many millenia ago GD had come into this world, he didn't know how he got here, only that shortly after he ran into a look alike, his look alike told him he was glad to see him, and was tired, still never the less the dragon Ray had given him his time and taught him much of what he knew, before heading off to finally be alone, and go into retirement. but now, now GD was beyond tired, he was slowly dying and he could feel the life getting sucked out of him, would he even get a retirement? would his replacement come? GD didn't know, Ray the dragon told him replacements always come through as if by magic, they appear when your'e just starting to get tired, had Ray lied to him? he wouldn't have any way of knowing one way or the other, he was one of a kind, older then any other monster he saw before him. GD had seen many battles in his time, civilizations come and go, slaves conquested, whole nations crumble, he had even been part of some of the destruction, naturally being the most powerful being alive, but now his power dwindled, and he was losing hope fast. he figured it couldn't all be bad, after all wasn't death in a way supposed to be a time of rest as well? that's what the other creatures believed. yet he had taken lives, and seen the look of panic on his enemies faces as he obliterated them with one move, GD wasn't so sure death was all that nice, but either way he didn't really have a say in the matter regardless. all he could do was wait with patience. either his replacement would come soon, or he would die, with his legacy and those that came before him. the worst part of it all was he didn't understand why he existed in the first place, he had fought for good, tried helping others, it often left him ostracized and lonely, he had fought along evil, but none of the riches or glory or power satisfied him, he even tried just being alone, in a cave with only his thoughts, that was alright for awhile, but time passed and still, he felt empty. GD suddenly just wanted it all to end, why should he continue to live if nothing ever worked in his favor. and with that thought he felt a tingly sensation as he faded away into the void, relieved and with one final breath he exclaimed to himself " finally at peace"
