I just came across another rule of combat: healed out.
As you can see in the screen capture above, this means the healing abilities of monsters are removed.
That should be a big minus for the Earth splinter, with 3 monsters having the (self-)healing ability, and a bonus for splinters without a tank heal monster, meaning Fire and Death.
