Play Smart & Have Fun
Having played various types of tournaments in the last weeks I have to confess it becomes addictive to battle with all the great folks here on the blockchain but is it all worth your time and brain? The above battle was not worth my time as I got destroyed by @jrvacation - but that happens. Depending on your time management and availability it makes sense to do a bit due diligence before hopping onto every battle fest!
I suggest to follow some basic criteria at least.
Play tournaments with realistic levels. If you have no maxed decks at all Diamond level might be fun but it is hard to come far in the end. There are a lot Silver, Bronze tournaments where you can show your deck building capabilities
Once identified also take a look at the opponents and prizes if this makes sense for you and your deck. You can get most of these details on challenge.com where currently all tournaments are hosted.
Avoid tournaments where 200 people play unless you have maxed decks. There was already a massive tournament on New Year's Eve - great get-together and for the guys with maxed decks (more than one) a fantastic chance but it takes time, patience and in the end the necessary levelled decks to be successful. Unless you just do it for fun - stay away and jump on smaller tournaments. This big ones can easily take 2 hours which required a good time planning as well if you have kids or a day-to-day job.
Have fun and only do what you really want to spend your time for.

Play smart not play endlessly 😀

I somehow doubt I'd do very well with my limited cards. I'll keep trying to rank up and win some more. I may buy more too. I've been lucky to have been given some that boosted my deck.
Excellent info! I'm glad someone gave this issue the importance it deserves. I've also giving you one of my HIGHLY SELECTIVE follows - EVEN THOUGH a lot of your posts are in German...
:-) I am flattered. Thanks a lot, gave you a follow back.
where are the tournaments?
Most of the organisational part of the tournaments are handled on https://challonge.com/ - you have to create an account and can then attend the tournaments (sign-up, register, report results, entire list of your tournaments and see the tournament tree in real time progress).
The discussions around the tournaments are mainly discussed on discord. This is until the tourneys are integrated into Steemmonsters UI as far as I know.
in discord , sti no interface in website
Still have to play in my first tournament. Don't consider my deck, nor my playing capabilities good enough to play in one of them!
Cheers,
Peter
Lemme check your decks :-)
Feel free to advice because I am more or less clueless what to do!
