I'm kind of shooting myself in the foot.
I know that if I pomp out a bunch of articles about Steemnova every week, I could make some substantial amount of SP for a steemit newb like myself.
However, I go out of my way to not do that, only made one post like that. I try to live up to my preconcieved notions about what kind of content I want make. Maybe, I'm the part of the problem.

No, you should write articles about what you want to write about.
But, when people are new to Steem, it is smart to try different types to see what clicks with you and your readers. I wrote more tech articles when I started, but at the time it didn't seem like there was an audience for them. Maybe there is one now, because things change.
The more people who are active on Steem and play Steem NOVA, the better for those who win the payout, if the rewards on the article increases. So, writing an article or two a week on Steem NOVA only helps. And, if people like the article and upvote it, that helps you.
For a person who don't just want to play the market, it is important to write anything and continue to write regularly to improve their writing style and researching skills.
I think that goes without saying.
Few people promote the game, the vast majority focus on bugs, which is a good thing, but I don't know if that's enough.
I wonder if the new "communities" feature will help or not.
On one side, it will be easier to find content that you like.
On the other side, it might keep people from browsing in certain areas and limit the possibility of getting a random upvote.
Maybe as part of joining Steem NOVA, players should write one article about Steem NOVA.
Maybe this should be part of application to the TOP8 alliance. Just alliance internal rule.
I might already be implementing that rule. LOL
