Greetings to everyone, here i am once again, happy and glad for our third week of our new stage of tuesday community competitions with the theme "YOUR FAVORITE FOOD" of course everybody loves food so i make sure not to miss this weeks competitions, this is my original work and entry to this contest hosted by our very own @steemph.

"LECHON"


With so many delicious dishes in our country I can hardly remember and count the delicious dishes I've already tasted that are really mouth watering, and those dishes really marks on my tastebuds and mind. However it is undeniable that despite the fact that there are a lot of delicious food there is still only one unique food that I am always looking for, and every time I see and smell its aroma it always remind me of my unforgettable eating experience. It has an enchanting smell and awe-inspiring look. This food is known as "LECHON" it is known for its crispy skin and it is best to serve it with a especial dip or sauce to give it a more delicious taste.

So what does the word lechon means?

The word "Lechon" comes from the Spanish word referring to a roasted suckling pig.

Where does it came from?

It is believed that cooking lechon is brought to us by spanish invaders, a heritage gift to us by the spanish. but according to the food historians in our country the process of cooking roasted pig is already done by our ancestors long before the foreign invaders came to our country, they literally roasted captured wild pigs in smoldering flames.

How it is being prepared?

In cooking lechon you can use large or smaller pigs. (depending on the requirement) after cleaning and washing the pig you can apply and put in some herbs and spices inside the pig's stomach section for a more powerful taste, you can use bamboo or metal as a stirring rod for rotisserie and skewer, then tied the pig legs and head so it will not be displaced while roasting on top of a smoldering coal.

Where and when it is being prepared?

It is often made available whenever there is a special day or occasion (Weddings, birthdays, feasts and important days in history) i think it is made possible to have lechon during thus time because of its costly price that is why we often to see this dish.
For me this delicacy is so delicious that even though cooking preparation is difficult it is still not missing from our tradition and dining table. They say that the food is more delicious. When its cooking preparation is more delicate.


What are the things to be considered in eating lechon?

My only advise is to eat it right and tailored what our body can only consume, because although this dish is delicious it also contains a high cholesterol that we can get if we let ourselves a lot of it. Always remember that exact amount is good for our body and excessive intake is harmful to our body.
