My kids love animals and at some point my daughter even wanted to be a veterinarian when she grows up. Here are some places we absolutely had fun visiting where they learned and nurtured their love for animals.

1. Have a day at the farm at Paradizoo
Too bad I can't find our other photos of Paradizoo farm. We had loads of fun feeding the rabbits, which was all my son wanted to do when we went there. We saw all kinds of sheep, camel, poultry, and livestock. We spent a bit of time with the butterflies and watching the bees pollinate and come back with honey. We bought organic vegetables grown right in their farm, kale, eggplants, and cucumbers.
Before the day ended, my son rode a cute pony and tried convinced me that he absolutely NEEDS a pet rabbit.
2. Visit the penguins of Antartica and pet a Manta Ray at the Manila Ocean Park
Have a feel of what it's like to be in the Southern Hemisphere with these cutesies. These penguins were exactly how they are depicted in animation, adorable and lively! The penguins inside a glass case greeted us when we got inside. They were swimming in the water and lurking on the ice. Afterwards, you can have a feel of Antartica as you go in a cold room, they will loan you thin jackets so, still best to bring your own jacket!
Make sure to relish the highlight of the visit, the oceanarium!
3. Feed a Tiger and learn about jungle animals at Zoobic Safari
The Safari was a totally exhilarating ride especially when one of the Tigers let out a mighty roar!
One of them also boarded the top of the jeepney and walked around for a bit. There were also close encounters with Tigers in their den, a whole place dedicated to the exotic birds and wildlife of the Savannah, ponds filled with Crocodiles, zebras and Wagyu cattle grazing in the fields.
4. Watch a Dolphin Show at the Ocean Adventure
Ocean Adventure had a lot in store for the little ones, they had shows about preserving wildlife, a dolphin exhibition, a Sea Lion show, and a musical about the Legend of Amansinaya. They had lots of surprises like a Shark Research Station, 3D wall art and aquariums we wish we didn't need to fit in one afternoon's visit.
Check out this video of the shows we were able to catch during our visit.
5. Visit Mali the elephant, lions, a pink hippopotamus and many more at Manila Zoo
I have no idea if Mali is the only elephant in the Philippines but so many people gathered around to wait for her so I knew he was a bit of a celebrity.
She did a few stunts for the crowd that drew some oohs and aahs. She really is a superstar!
From Lion' s dens, hebras, tiger pups, crocs, macaques, reptiles, their very own Kinderzoo for little ones, and a horseback riding area. I really think Manila Zoo has it all.
For my son, one of the highlights was this pink hippopotamus that he lovingly called Beshte from the Lion Guard show on TV.
Before heading home, my daughter repeatedly told me how happy she was that we were able to be together at the zoo. It just goes to show, you don’t need much to make your kids happy. Your presence and some new experiences with nature will go a long way to making lasting memories.
