New York Men's Fashion Week Fall Winter '18-'19 - Abasi Rosborough

in #steemph7 years ago (edited)

Mabuhay, Steem! :) Long time no discourse. Sadly work has been a female dog in heat lately and so I (unfortunately) had to focus on it for a while. Ideas aren't in short supply but sadly time is. I am my own biggest critic and it would irk me to no end if I posted something that was what in my opinion would be below my standard. I would also hate to waste the effort of anyone who took the time to read the things I write.

The compulsion for creative output has been hounding me lately. I missed writing. I missed talking to other people about ideas. I missed reading about what they thought was intellectually stimulating. So not bearing it anymore, I put on my big girl panties and resolved to write. And now here I am, rambling.

I work for a fashion and lifestyle network and recently we've been covering Fashion Week season. It has come to my attention that in my beloved Philippines, fashion weeks are not that big of a deal. I'm not saying that we are behind certain global trends, but it just has not been at the forefront of our local fashion scene. In making this write-up, I hope I can gain interest in the fast paced world of fashion and hope that whoever is reading this might gain a new appreciation for the artistry and thought that goes into each season. <3

So New York Men's Fashion Week has just finished (February 5 to 7). For the next few posts * fingers crossed *, I will show you my favorite looks from the shows I have (virtually) seen. First up is Fashion Week first timer, ABASI ROSBOROUGH.

Their line is definitely a breath of fresh air compared to the other shows with their slouchy outerwear (I could imagine myself spending days huddles up in them!) and keeping with the athleisure theme seen on most of the runways in London.

Abdul Abasi and Greg Rosborough, the designers behind Abasi Rosborough, gained a lot of followers over the last five years and are particularly a hit with the millennial crown because of their fresh take on tailoring. Their line is mixture of comfort and refinement, basically the definition of modern day fashionistas, while maintaining a thought provoking reasoning behind their Fall/ Winter line. Abasi was quoted saying it was about "the duality and the dichotomy of things" and "this season show the progress of humanity, but at the end of it, we don’t know if it’s going to be a utopia or dystopia."
