We are usually taught about Aristotle and Plato, but I feel like our educators neglect us by only maybe bringing up Epicurus in only universities. He is my favorite philosopher, whom I discovered while reading 'the swerve' by Stephen greenblatt (highly recommended). Epicurus was around during the Hellenistic era, while Alexander the Great reigned. He stressed in order to obtains joy and actually enjoy life, we do what we love in a moderate manner - A balance, per say. He also argued that we should not worry about life after death because it is just that:
"Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist. "

He helped instil into people's minds to enjoy the Frutis of today and not take things overboard because it creates an imbalance. An extreme of one end of spectrum and a disregard for the other is counterproductive. You cannot claim an ideal exists while denying its other end of the viewpoint. Humanity is more inclined to enjoy life if they adopt his philosophy. Cherish what is guaranteed, humanity.
Thanks for sharing this interesting post with us :) @sumerianprince
You're welcome, :). Hope you enjoyed. Followed.
Agree- do what we love in a moderate manner =^_^=
If all of humanity did, we'd be better off.
