RE: 2 weeks trial of capping total post rewards to $500 per blog post

This may have an opposite effect. It may discourage people. Ambition is a great motivator. Everything does not need to be equal. How do you Pareto content, which we need to do given the quantity, to show what is quality?

Put another way, on any given day there may be 30 posts which exceed $1000. That is easy for someone to casually see what has 'buzz'. If there were caps, that might be 400 posts per day, which would be too much to look at. It becomes discouraging and all blends together. It is a risk.

@mrosenquist you make very good points. The real issue we need to solve is the "too much power in too few hands" that we currently find as our dynamic. The cap rule would help this a bit as it would naturally force a flattening of the bell curve if you will. However as you point out it has it's issues.

As an alternative, how about we put in controls which limit how many votes you can make in a tag or category? It might disperse the voting more and make whales look at a greater variety of posts. I threw together a few ideas a posted them here: https://steemit.com/steemit/@mrosenquist/steemit-proposal-for-developer-and-community-evaluation
