This post is to clarify how I got lent 1000 Steem Power and a shout out to @neoxian for giving me this temporary gift.
here that he would choose two 'big minnows' – I still don't know what that word means. These minnows would receive 1000 SP for at least one month.@neoxian posted
People were to say in the comments what good they would do with all that power. You know, Uncle Ben said: "Power is awesome!" and I love curating, so I tried my best to argue why this power should mine! Thank you very much for choosing me, @neoxian!
(I dont really speak korean yet, but my writing is easier on the eyes in korean. It means "thank you", pronounced "Gamsa omnida")
Who is @neoxian?
He is a shark, a loan shark to be precise. I followed him because he had an article with an anime thumbnail, where he was defending a Steemian as a lawyer. It was a Steemian who went under 25 reputation Neox-san seemed to take the contract to defend him very serious but it had still some kind of humor in it. Neox does many post with declined rewards – mainly the updates to his loan business - and does give away like the one where I got. I always thought loan sharks are bad people, but @neoxian is different.
How do I use my power?
Well, mainly for upvoting comments, but not just only under my posts. It is a habit I picked up talking with @dwinblood, though he can vote 10% and I don't even have the scale. I think dialogue is often undervalued on Steemit. To compensate my unprofitable voting habits I am one of the earliest voters on my @politics-trail account and should start getting curation rewards for that on private account starting tomorrow. I want to do good, but also don't want you to receive no interest on your power
Of course I still vote on good posts and people I want to support, but my focus is on giving people at least my now 0.02$ for their contribution to a discussion, especially when they are newbies I think 0.02$ for a well thought out comment/reply can be very motivating.
I hope you like what I am trying to do with your power.
You are doing well my minnow...
thanks, Meister (master of your craft)
Well done! Let me go see how your trail is getting on too. You started just a few days before mine.
thanks mate, I still dont know what I am doing, but I am trying my best. Is everything good in #math? I was busy reading politics :D
"Big power comes with big responsibility"
Yes, Spiderman was one of my favorite super heroes because he followed that mantra. Thank you for reminding me, Manjit.
I hope you have soon more :)
thanks. I am looking forward to the day my vote has more impact on Steemit.
Sure :) Same here :)
Nice gift. Use your power wisely. Thank you for sharing.
I will try to use all of my powers responsible and in the best interest of the Steemit community, thanks for commenting.
Your 감사합니다 is so cute haha!
Thanks, @ramengirl :)
Very nice. Use that power wisely!
thanks, I will use it responsible.
Thats why he chose you then!
Great idea @thatgermandude. One of the things I like best about Steemit vs facebook etc, is that it leads to more honest discussions and isn't a bunch if trolly flame wars everywhere. Steemians want to connect and discuss, not tear each other down as brutally as possible. But remember with great steem power comes great steem responsibility (wow that was cheesy, but I couldn't resist).
I should have put your exact words in my post. I agree 100%. My favorite part about Steemit is the discussion culture and I want people to get rewarded for keeping it up.
