Mama Knows Best! Eat Your Breakfast!


When we think of eating for fitness, low-fat often comes to mind. However, there is a place for healthy fats on our plates! Also, fermented foods are not only tasty, but also superfoods! Check out my healthy farmhouse breakfast!

I chose @Crowbarmama as a handle because I believe in doing the best you can with what you have on hand. The crowbar is a multi-purpose tool. You’ll notice my photography is a bit rough, my grammar is not the most polished, but as a homeschooling, homesteading mama of 4, if I waited to take my photos until the light was perfect or re-edited my posts a 5th time ( I shoot for 3 drafts), I would never get a post out!

Yeah my wife gets mad at me when I start trying to clean up my diet. She thinks I cut to drastically when cleaning up my diet!

There are studies on the benefits of healthy fats in terms of your brain function, your joints and even heart health! You should listen to the wifey! 😉

And thanks for noticing the edits! They're fun, but a total time suck! Like, I enjoy it so much that two hours will pass and then I'm just throwing the rest together because I'm exhausted!! Lol!

Ehm.. I fast until late afternoon, that works well for me. But i do agree with you in regards to the fats! (keto ftw). Cool place you live in! :)

Thanks! Yes, I've got a couple friends who fast intermittently, but not regularly. I'm definitely curious about the health benefits, but have not had the time to really delve into the research. I guess my point was more about the healthy fats and fermented foods and since breakfast has always my favorite meal, that was my pick. That being said, we do eat fairly late, 9-10 ish, so almost a brunch. However I've noticed I feel much better when I eat less starches at dinner. Thanks so much for stopping by.

So I was talking with a friend of mine yesterday who had hit a plateau in her fitness journey and she started eating with Keto in mind and is having fabulous results! I'm starting to look into it myself! Thanks for mentioning it here!

Omg I could never go without breakfast. Definitely interested in trying out some fermenting so I'm going to look at the recipes you posted when I get around to it.

The lacto-fermented carrots and broccoli sticks are insanely easy! As is the lacto-fermented home made mayonnaise! And breakfast is my favorite. I used to often eat it for dinner as well! There's never a bad time for bacon and eggs!
