Not everyone understands the true nature of reality. Especially, not those living in their social media bubble that consists of hours spent on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, you name it. I'm not saying I know how the universe works but there's one thing I know for sure - if you are going to do something, make it matter. In other words, you should be rewarded in one way or another for the hours you dedicate to something.
And no, it shouldn't be dopamine that you get from the sound of a notification. A notification that someone liked the photo or the story you posted. Who cares? You just spent the time you don't have creating something that won't bring you abundance to impress people you don't even know.
What if you told you there IS A WAY? In fact, there are many ways out there on the internet to earn money for creating content. Depending on what you create, one place could fit you better than the other. If you're not really a creator, you can engage with others, offer your ideas, and become a part of some community. All it takes is a will to learn, practice, adapt, and repeat. Just like in life.
Today we'll go through four places where you can find yourself, share your creativity, thoughts, ideas, connect with others, and be rewarded for real. Let's start! Oh, and one more thing - there's no special order to this list. I went with what came first on my mind.
#1 HIVE (ex-steem)
To me, the best experience to use HIVE is through PeakD.com
The word ''HIVE'' is pretty new to the online community when it comes to decentralized social media but the system and the basic structure of HIVE block-chain come from what used to be STEEM (steemit.com). After a hostile takeover from an evil entity, Steem community ''forked'' the blockchain creating one from the people to the people - HIVE.
It would be almost impossible to go through all the dapps (decentralized applications) that work on HIVE blockchain. You can go to HiveDapps and check it out yourself. There are tons of people making the blockchain better but the best thing - there is no CEO for HIVE.
To start - go to signup.hive.io and do the magic. And remember because this is important - store your private keys in a safe place (preferably offline on a paper) because if you lose them, it's a long way to recover but that's a topic for another day.
Cryptocurrency - HIVE and Hive Dollar
HIVE has two cryptocurrencies, HIVE and Hive Dollar which is there to balance the block-chain as far as I understand it.
When you get rewarded on HIVE, your rewards are split into three parts:
- one is paid with HIVE
- the other with Hive Dollars
- and the third goes to power-up your account (powering-up increases your reputation and gives your votes a greater value)
#2 Uptrennd
Homepage of Uptrennd
Uptrennd is pretty new too. Launched at the start of 2019 it has grown to become one of the most engaged social media platforms in the world. It's pretty easy to start with it and here are my 5 tips for newcomers to Uptrennd. (It's published on Uptrennd platform and I have an account there because it's a great way to gain exposure for this blog.)
You can also start with their ''How to'' series - part 1, part 2 which will give you a full view of what's happening or read BOI review of Uptrennd - part 1, part 2.
Cryptocurrency - 1UP
1UP token has had its ups and downs but overall it's going really good for them with new listings from exchanges coming regularly. Probit is the latest and it's pretty big if you ask me.
#3 Publish0x
Homepage of Publish0x
At first, Publish0x was meant for crypto-only content but now they've grown to include almost all categories that you can think of. What they say is good about Publish0x is that unlike on Hive and on Uptrennd, every Publish0x user has the same vote value, and you can only vote once in 10 minutes which makes people read articles and decide whether or not they're worth voting on.
I'm not on Publish0x but as I went through some of the posts they have, many of them are well-written articles.
Cryptocurrencies - BAT, DAI, Loopring
Publish0x has the perk of paying in multiple cryptocurrencies. And you also get paid when you vote for someone so it's a win-win situation.
BAT (Basic Attention Token) started out as a token for Brave browser users to reward them for watching Brave ads instead of regular ones. Brave is actually a really nice browser that you should check out. It blocks ads, protects your privacy, rewards you, and is based on chromium meaning all the plugins you are using on Chrome will work on Brave too. Read BOI review of Brave browser here.
I don't know a lot about Dai token but looking from the price graph, it's going forward pretty steadily. It has a market cap of over $ 200 million and it looks like it's here to stay. Here's an article explaining Dai token better than I ever could.
Loopring is also an exchange protocol. This one is based on Ethereum and has a market cap of over $ 140 million. Here's a beginner's guide to Loopring.
#4 LBRY
Start page of lbry.tv
In simple words, LBRY is an enormous digital library where users can find videos, music, e-books, and more. In a more complex form - LBRY is an open-source protocol that enables anyone to build apps on it and share their content with others. Content creators get rewarded with a unique cryptocurrency called LBRY Credits.
Cryptocurrency - LBRY Credits
To read more about what LBRY offers, go to this page - what is lbry?
For example, this video has got 1 Million LBC which is about 20 thousand dollars worth of crypto! I don't know if I'm right here and maybe the system works a bit differently but there's definitely something there.
Conclusion
I hope that after this post, you will stop scrolling useless social media feeds if you haven't already. It's the 21st century and we have all the tools we need to improve our lives. The things we create can bring us abundance. The ideas and thoughts that arise in our heads are worth something.
Believe it or not, everything is in your hands. You can keep scrolling your life away but you can also start creating and crafting your own way. It's your day!

Thank you so much for this. I am relatively new to Hive and if I'm being honest, find it overwhelming because I have a hard time figuring out where to start. This post will be a huge resource for me! It's much appreciated!
