How female characters in children's literature can teach in the educational field

"Smart women, healthy relationships", that is the title of Augusto Cury's book - writer, psychiatrist and specialist in psychoanalysis - that identifies some types of women, their relationship with the world and the power of transformation based on their experiences.

Women are constant targets of discussions about fragility experiences.ality in a world still dominated by men. But in the twentieth century does this concept have the same weight as before?

In this post, we will submit the question to the educational universe, showing how schools have dealt with the variables imposed by modernity - education, character and personality, gender equality, intimidation, family relationship and disposition for the knowledge.
We will contextualize a bit, using as reference some female characters in children's literature, showing a comparison between the imaginary world of some female figures and the characteristics in terms of children's behavior in line with an increasingly complex reality.

The female characters in children's literature what can they teach in the pedagogical environment?

In the children's universe, there is a tenuous line between fantasy and reality. Many children and adolescents use this subjective duality to cope with their longings and fears until they reach the adult stage, in which they will have a strengthened personality and means to face the difficulties of life.

The feminist movements, the advancement of technology and the transformation into a position of women and their occupation in the world are elements that can be object of reflection and the physical form of childhood to adulthood. Rethe turning to the book that started this post, it is possible to perceive how much the experiences of childhood are responsible for the multifocal development of intelligence, giving a feeling of empowerment and representation to a girl.
The more stories are told, debated and divided in the school - and, if possible, family - the more viable, in a playful and educational way, by drawing from the children feelings of empathy and self - control, which can improve academic performance.

Let's analyze some characters, their stories and their contribution to teaching children and young people!

Mulan
The history that happens in China of the Han Dynasty is that of an intrepid and courageous young woman who decides to put her life at risk to save her father and her country.
When his country is invaded and his sick father is recruited for war, Mulan decides to disguise himself as a man, train to become a good soldier and thus take the place of his father in the Chinese army.

Mulan emerged and changed the old maxim of the weakened female character and awaiting the return of the father, husband and brothers from the fields of war, hunting or work to provide for them, family. She is a princess who rejects the crystal shoes and dresses full of tulles and glitters to be a warrior and face the world with courage and determination - and that does not detract from the title of nobility to which she is entitled.
