    I used to live in Danshui (New Taipei City)! They have great hiking in Taiwan as well. Nice people too!

              Wishing you some sun despite the rainy season, Joy. Yes, there are some accents that are hard to understand for some outside the area. Vowels really evolve and sometimes consonants soften and disappear.

                    I'd like to live there for a while. I'd prefer the South (Kaohshiung) over the North (Taipei). When I look at the map I always have to think of the "slipper animalcule" or paramecium :-)
