Thanks to @ mermaidvampiro, for your new contest under a new idea that allows that taste for writing that many of us carry within we can develop, I want to write about the Goddess Mama cocha, in the preamble of International Women's Day. Mamacocha represents the union of land and water, since one cannot survive without the other.
Mama Cocha (or Mamacocha) - in Quechua, Mama Qucha (Mother of the Waters) - was the Inca goddess of all waters. She represented the sea and its tides, was related to lakes, rivers and water sources, and her children were considered as springs.
According to Inca mythology, this goddess was also venerated in towns close to lakes and lagoons, these towns had several rituals to venerate their gods, in the specific case of Mama Cocha rituals, which participated with a main role the women, since this goddess is represented with characteristics of the feminine gender. A procession that takes place every September 8 in the Inca towns, consists of a ritual where dances, gastronomy, music and petitions that can be made collectively or individually are celebrated and offered.
As we can see, from the geography that is studied the role of the woman was always predominant, identified with the fertility that gives the earth and with the protection that comes from the heart of a mother.
