Do you like to travel and learn about the lesser known places out there? Are you craving new experiences and challenges? Would you like to try something different and also expand your perspective? Then you will definitely want to check out our future posts.
We will get you into the depth of some amazing places found in a culturally diverse Eastern European country that you might have heard rumors of like Count Dracula, for example, and other spooky and mysterious stuff with a lot of interesting history behind them.
Did that spark your interest? If so, just keep reading.
Wander… where?
Hidden away, where most highways end, somewhere between the wide expanses of Russia and the famous tourist destinations of Central Europe lies R O M A N I A, a country soaked in mystery and hidden gems that will leave you with a desire to learn and explore more of its land.
In order to spread the word about our country, some members of the @steemromania community got together and hatched a plan to “make our country interesting again” :)
How are we going to do that?
By visiting the most interesting, remote and well-hidden places we can find, and then telling you all about them: from why they are awesome to how to get there, how much it costs and tips on how to make your adventure more enjoyable.
In other words, we want to capture your interest and then give you the opportunity, not only to read about these places but we'll also share with you all the tips and tricks we can find so you can have the best experience in getting there and making the most of it.
Who are we?
Right now, we are kind of a skeleton crew consisting of two members: @ruth-elise and @calatorulmiop helped and guided by the wisdom of @lishu, one of @steemromania’s most active members. And let's not forget our collaborator, @alexandraioana26 who will join in occasionally as well.
A few words about each of us:
@calatorulmiop is passionate about history and connecting with our past by experiencing it through travel and understanding what life was like for people long ago. He is also a runner and an avid nature enthusiast who daydreams about future adventures more than he would like to admit.
@ruth-elise is also a traveler who loves to learn about places and listen to people’s life stories. As she is developing her passion for photography, she always finds joy in documenting moments and places that inspire through her images. She is committed to helping Romania be known and build up this wonderful project and future community.
We look forward to growing our team and we’d love to collaborate with enthusiastic and dedicated people who can relate to our goal. So, if you are a traveler (not necessarily a Romanian one) and you also like writing, taking photos or you just see other ways to contribute to this project, you’re more than welcome to become a part of our team.
Future plans
We’re about bringing exposure to Romania and giving this heritage-filled land a well-deserved spot in the limelight through our posts. So prepare to be charmed!
We also want to create a context where people will feel free to share their travel adventures from Romania and where anyone can ask questions about the places they find interesting while having the opportunity to get rewarded as every interaction here on steemit is a transaction in itself.
This sounds pretty interesting. I don't know much about Romania, but I would love to learn about some hidden gems over there :)
We’re happy to hear that @valth! 😊
sounds right up my alley for travel and reading. Look forward to seeing where you go.
That's great! we're glad to have another traveler reading our posts :)
Your work is really amazing!
Thank you @ruth-elise for your supportive words. You will inspire me to go to Romania one day with Wandering Romania. I would love to go there. Especially the cemetery with the colourful painted wooden grave markers. I forget where it is but you will know.
That sounds exciting 😊
Yes, the Merry Cemetery it’s a very interesting place to visit, it’s in Maramures area. We’ll definitely write about it.

I hope we’ll convince you to come visit 😃
I'm looking forward to "seeing" Romania. Circumstances will not allow me to travel there physically, but I can still enjoy it. I'll be following you, and resteeming your posts, starting with this one.
Good luck on your new adventure together.
Thank you so much, @agmoore!
