We are back at it this week with a great half-dollar silver hunt. We were all super excited about the hunt. If this is your first time reading about our half-dollar silver hunt let me give you the quick rundown. We have an outstanding order with or local bank for $1,000 worth of half dollars. They come in two $500 boxes. Our bank orders them for us ever week. We search through them looking for silver half-dollars, keeping the silver ones and taking the others back to a different bank to get our cash back. Each week we repeat the process.
This week was a good week. Right off the bat we found silver. See if you can spot it in the stack.
If you guessed the third one down from the top you are correct. That was the only silver we found in the first box. Now it is on to the second one. Would you know it the first roll in the second box my son finds another silver half-dollar. He was pretty excited.
We ended up finding three 40% silver half-dollars this week.
And this beautiful 2007 S mint mark proof. Not too bad at all, we are always happy when we find silver.

Yes we keep the proof ones. I have never looked into selling them. We have 8 of them so far.
Excellent! They may not be worth too much right now but if I had to guess they will at least be worth more than .50 at some point!

I am not American but every since I found a silver half dollar on the floor of an abandoned home I have kept it in my pocket. Carry it with me everywhere, every day.
Why are you looking for those coins? What do you do with the silver ones?
We save the silver ones. We keep them for their silver content

I once met a guy who created guitar picks from silver coins, not dollars, but still silver coins. There are also vids on youtube showing how people turn a coin into a ring creating jewelry from them.
