A five pound Sovereign????? Wow, i love it !!! I have a weakness for Sovereign's. Classic what else can i say, do you like the older ones? I like the idea that some of these have been around over 100 years.

Looking forward to the post's. The Sovereign was first issued in 1489 for Henry VII of England, and i have read that less than 1% of all gold Sovereign's minted are still in collectable condition. In 1933 because of US gold coins being withdrawn from circulation many gold Sovereign's were melted.... so sad (:

I used to call the 2005 the "Toy Knight" sovereign dismissively, but now I want one, let alone the £2 or £5 versions! One day... it will be mine.

I'm sure some people think of it as the 'Rocking Horse' coin of our day.
