Tis #piratesunday again my friends and another tale of intrigue await you from the deck of D Wings ship the Silver Wing! As Queen Savore told our noble adventurers on a previous leg of the journey time in the Lost Sea works a little different. Given this fact the adventurers of the Dragons Fire and their fate with Lady Ravenhill, shall be paused momentarily. The moment of reveal and meeting of with Circe and Lady Ravenhill frozen until the Lost Sea allows it to continue, however in this frozen time our characters are transported back to previous adventurers. We shall look upon Captain K’s glimpse into his past, and remember my friends all that is learned in the Lost Sea is learned for a reason.

Frozen by the Lost Seas Magic Captain K was transported back to a time when he was not the legend his has become, but merely a man with a humble crew and small vessel. Memories and events he had not thought of for decades now flashed in front of him as though they were all happening again. The images suddenly stopped and there in front of him was a much younger man, whom given years of experience and trials would stand in his shoes one day. Yelling out loud Captain K said “Hey young sailor come to me!”, but there was no reaction from the scene. Without warning a soft but strong voice spoke to him saying, “These events of the past you cannot interact with dear Captain, but pay attention for your future fate may depend on them.” Captain K puzzled asked “Am I dead?” The voice answered with a chuckle and declared “No sweet captain for I, Athena, am here to share wisdom with you and your men.

Now, simply watch the events unfold, but make sure to take note of all that occurs.” The captain nodded and watched as his younger self discussed matters of his homeland that were of grave importance.
The older version of Captain K could see his younger self yelling at his homelands leader in an office. Captain K insisted that if they did not fund his journey “then all would be lost and the epidemic would engulf all our lands!” Jacob the Strong was the leader of Captain K’s homeland at the time and a good friend to Captain K. Both men had grown to respect and honor one another during “The End War”, a conflict that should have wiped their land off the map. Jacob was a thin man about 6’4” and 175lb, but had been a war hero during “The End War”, and with his leadership the land grew strong financially and physically. Jacob said “I can only give what I have promised you because the council does not believe in your magic tale.” Captain K disappointed, but understanding stated “I will find the dragon talisman and I will save our land as we have before.” Jacob smiling held out his hand and as the friend shook he said “I have no doubt my brother for I know what you can do!” Leaving the meeting Captain K boarded his old ship the Golden Axe, it was an old ship that he had won in a game of poker many years ago during "The End War".

Upon boarding his men ask Captain K of their destination and adventure. Captain K unrolled a large map with a line drawn across it toward a coastline with a large mountain range surrounding it. At the coastline the line split to two one heading directly into the mountain and the other into the east. He told the men that that mountain range is where the dragon talisman lies protected by a set of large and unique dragons.

One of the men spoke up and asked “Sir what is the line deviating from the course heading to?” Captain K said “those are the precious metals mines of the Sal Gnomes; we must go there to contact the Dragon Master Slak-tor for aid. His men quickly readied the ship and set sail toward the mines of the Sal Silver Gnomes. Along the way Captain K explained how the Sal Gnomes were the best harvesters of precious metals and extremely loyal. The Dragon Master Slak-tor had saved them from a band of thieves looking to take all their mines with one of his dragon companions and he has resided there ever since. This arrangement works well for all involved because Dragon Master Slak-tor has a new home to reside in, his dragons are happy because they can make nest of gold and silver to lay their eggs, and the Sal Gnomes have protection. Luckily the coast was only a day journey from his homeland, which seemed to fly by for Captain K and his men. Anchoring the Golden Axe off shore Captain K and five of his men set out to discover the hidden mines of the Sal Gnomes. Captain K knew that all the folklore said the Sal Gnomes mines were to the West and could only be found by knowing certain symbols hidden in the forest. After walking for a few hours Captain K spotted the first symbol on a piece of drift wood lodged at the wood line. It was a carved outline of a foot that would blend in with the bark if one was not looking for it specifically. As they began to head into the forest one of Captain K’s men asked him how he knew where to find the mines. Captain K grinned and pulled out a piece of parchment that looked as old as the land. Opening it he began to read instructions on how to find the mines with a stern warning that anyone who had ill intent for the gnomes would pay the ultimate price. Inside the document described the symbols and how the foot represented the hard work that provided the gnomes with all the things they needed to live, the next was a set of stars representing the silver and other metals they loved (They believe the stars to be the precious metals of the gods.), and the last a set of peaks representing the ground which was what held all the precious metals they were seeking. Pointing tothe signature of Metalis Salivaté, he asked his men if they knew who it was.

After none of his men answered he said this is one of the only Sal Silver Gnomes to ever venture out into the world and become a great adventurer and consultant. From the rear a pirate asked “Sir how did you get it?” Captain K said won it from a drunken dwarf in a tavern somewhere near Youtubia. “But Captain how do you know it’s real?” asked the young pirate with a quivering voice. Staring at the man the Captain took a deep breath and quickly answered “The only way to find the truth is to seek it!” Turning to the forest, Captain K ordered the men to continue on as he began to look for the next symbol. About forty paces in the Captain noticed a cluster of star looking shapes etched into a large boulder. Cutting into the forest even deeper the land began to become rockier and rise into the mountains. The sun was beginning to drop when finally Captain K spotted the final symbol carved into the trunk of a tree almost twice the size of his ship. “Stay close and alert; we should be there” he yelled to his men. After traveling up the mountain side for a few minutes the men felt the earth beneath them quake and rumble. “Stay steady men!” the Captain ordered. Again the ground shook with the force of a volcano as the men tried to stay upright and strong. Looking down at the mountain below him, Captain K suddenly realized they were not on rock at all but standing on the armored hide of a dragon’s tail. Looking toward the top of the mountain a large red dragon head appeared with smoke billowing out of its nose and from between its teeth. “Run” screamed Captain K as the very surface they were standing on pulled away and the men began to freefall into a cavern. Slamming into the hard cavern floor the men were dazed and beat up, but still well enough to try and retreat. Getting to his feet Captain K was met by a tall medium build man sitting on a throne of gold, silver, and gems; Dragon Master Slak-tor had arrived. It was not the man that shocked the Captain as much was the fact the throne was perched on the back of a mammoth dragon. As his pirate band tried to scatter into the cavern thousands of torches being carried by the Sal Silver Gnomes appeared pushing them back toward where they fell. Staring at the Captain the man leaped from his throne to the ground with agility that appeared supernatural. As he reached Captain K, the man’s face was serious with a glaze that could cut through solid marble. Captain K’s pirate crew stood silent watching to see the fate that would become them. Abruptly, the man burst out in laughter asking “K my friend I have not seen you since The End War! What brings you to my home sweet cavern?” Smiling, Captain K answered “Many things my brother and none of them good!” Slak-tor looked at Captain K’s men and then to Captain K, while shaking his head he exclaimed “well then let us eat and discuss what events have happened and what events may come my brother.” With that Slak-tor made a quick gesture with his hand and his dragon kneeled down to let him back on, while two other dragons with large saddles appeared from the shadows. Slak-tor yelled back to Captain K and his men to “hop on and we will meet up in the dining hall!” Captain K hopped on the back of one of the dragons as he and his men were escorted to the dining hall by thousands of Sal Silver Gnomes.
