Well, it comes online June1. But recently announced a new crypto IQ "airdrop" for all EOS hodlers. I think it could be a great deal right now! But hodl till after the chain release. I just got my wallet registered, it was a learning curve for me,lol.

I have a modest investment in EOS but keep them in MEW so do i have to register that wallet to get the airdrop?

Yes, I believe the airdrop will occur right after the new EOS tokens are replacing the erc20 ones, you may not get the new ones if your wallet isn't registered!
