A Harsh Reality of Stacking CRYPTOS vs METALS.

in #steemsilvergold7 years ago (edited)

First off, I LOVE stacking my gold and silver. I'm practically a broken record and cannot reiterate enough how much the practice has taught me. I will pump them but never see dumping them. In my coffers ORO y PLATA shall remain until the fiat illusion has shattered, however these girls seem to only PRESERVE your wealth but NOT earn you profits.

I've exchanged a fair amount of Steem for Bitcoin with which I bought silver, but I have since seen that the amounts of bitcoin I have used to pay for the metal has grown in value ridiculously. Below is the current value of the bitcoin I sent for may 30-40 oz of silver at a time. SILVER is amazing but had I not gone all up in her, and spread the wealth around, I could have done a lot better.

I'm no crypto expert by any means. In fact, I think that I lack even an average understanding sometimes, however I do know one thing well from my time as a stacker and that is to BUY ON DIPS.

All of the Bitcoin that I own (and have owned) has been from converted steem and it hasn't always been converted at advantageous times. I've profited quite a bit this year which is preserved in Precious metal form, but I could have profited 10 fold if I had known then what I know now.

Seeing now the real potential for cryptos, I have opened up a new wallet with coinbase and bought all 4 available currencies on a BIG DIP! This very sudden and brief FLASH CRASH was just the catalyst I needed to do what I know I needed to. I'm not a rich man by any means, but I think that this little investment will at least get my foot in the door so I can at least join the conversation. I will now be the owner of STEEM, STEEM DOLLARS, Bitcoin, Etherium, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. This is a big step and change in my overall paradigm.

I will continue to stack my metals as they are what I ultimately prefer as a store of REAL VALUE, however I time my purchases much more wisely so these mistakes will happen with far less frequency. I'll definitely still make plenty of mistakes, but I'll make sure that they are new ones and not a repetition of what I did in the past! This is all a part of growth!

No longer will I see and treat the cryptos simply as a means to an end in order to buy metals. I shall treat them seriously and work them so that it may be a profitable venture. I will really on the use of my knowledge as opposed to emotion. 2018 will be the year that I used the mistakes that I made this year as a lesson for what to and not to do as far as metals and cryptos go!

KEEP STACKING them ALL!

BLESS

Sorry I didn't, couldn't read article. Can't stop starring at the silver.

Haha fair enough!

I think you did everything right. You have an excellent collection of silver

Thank you brother. Definitely have made mistakes but we can only get better from here!

You are better man than me. I stand by my silver and gold and just watched Bitcoin moving up and up. For now I am standing by my initial feeling and will never gave up on my gold and silver

If you have you used your intuition, gut and have principles you believe in, even if they may differ from my approach, I salute you!

im torn between holding my steem for gains, of trading it for litecoin, i think steem will do well in 2018

I'm holding most of my STEEM for the simple fact that, of all the cryptos, I believe in it most! Put your money where your mouth is I'd say!

Impressive! We are all finding our way through this, seems like you got a great start. Best of luck.

Thank you! I'm doing the best I can here! I'm just trying to share what little I have learned and know to help others! Glad you find value in it!
