Last week I stopped at the bank to pick up some boxes of half dollars. My teller, Nakia, told me she had three boxes of which two were customer rolls. I should have only taken the box from the treasury but for some reason I couldn’t resist.
The coins from the customer had of course been searched through already and to make matters worse it was a total of 4 coins short! The box from the treasury had five 40% silver coins, which is better than none but still disappointing.
I told myself I would learn from my mistake and I ordered two more boxes.
The photo shows the net result from these two boxes. All but two of the pictured coins are silver. My son and I each got a roll with five silver coins and there were several rolls with two or more coins. We ended the hunt with a 1963 Franklin, five 64’s, and 51 coins between 65 and 69. We also found a 1985 S clad proof coin and a 1983 Half Balboa from Panama.
It seem that ever time I hit a dry spell and start to get discouraged I’ll get a windfall box or two and get pumped right back up again.

Your rolls were short?!! That sucks. Glad you found a few treasures despite being a $1 short.
Yeah, I learned my lesson. I weighed each roll before I opened it so it was really easy to tell how many coins were in the roll. A full roll weighs about 225 g and one with 19 coins weighs about 214 g.
