Gold Coin: The Austrian Philharmonic

in #steemsilvergold7 years ago (edited)

This beautiful coin was minted in 1989.
In 2002, they make the 100 € coin and replace that of 2000 schillings.

It is the gold standard for investing in gold in Europe.

The first side represents the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra:

The second side represents a concert hall of Vienna named "The Great Organ":

It weighs 31.1g (1 Oz) and is 99.9% pure gold!
Its diameter is 37 mm and its thickness is 2 mm.

For me, it is one of the most beautiful gold coins to hoard, or to collect 😁
If you want to invest, do not hesitate and go for it 👍🏻

Over here (germany), the Krugerrand is still a lot more popular actually, perhaps followed by the Maple. The Phil is a beautiful coin though and will not give you trouble anywhere.

Thank you for your comment 😃. I do not have a krug but I find it pretty, and globally it's one of the most recognized coins. but the mapple I have, she is really good but her fault is that over time the coin take really ugly white spots 😔

I do have a few of these in silver and carry one as my pocket piece but they look hell of a lot better in gold! :)

its true! i have few in silver too but not in gold.
