Well today seems like a really good day. I have read several post on steemians hitting a follower milestone. Like @missontothemoon just hit 1000 followers, @hope777 just hit 600 followers. Well @raybrockman just hit 900, ( no one unfollow me untill tomorrow).
Steemit
I started this journey back in May, seems like it has been a lot longer than that. I was lost and didn't have any idea what I was doing. But after a few days, I came across a steemian legend, he had this video series for newbies and I watch everyone of them and waited for the next one to come out. He took time and was honest to the viewers, this was my first impression of steemit. I really don't think I would have made it with out that video series, so @papa-pepper , thanks for all that you have done for me and this community.

When I found this group, I felt at home. Not knowing much about blogging, I new I had to find me a group that I could relate to. What an awesome group of steemians, there is so much knowledge in this group it is amazing. This is where I call home. So thanks guys and gals, all of you are amazing.

I like Steemit for so many reasons... Not the least of which is all the people I have met (on-line) and the lives I've been exposed to. So many people with so many interests and so much going on all the time.
What really stands out for me though is personal. I am writing again, and it feels great!
So thank you Ray Brockman, and thank you Steemit -- and thank you #steemsilvergold -- i too feel like it is home on this site.

The best thing on SteemIT is THIS GROUP - #steemsilvergold. I have checked out some other groups and they are mostly hollow. They are based on being a group for the sake of being a group.
#steemsilvergold is like home. This group has focus and meaning. We have a shared interest in silver/gold. Really though, there is shared attitude and philosophy. We have interest in silver/gold for reasons of wealth / security / personal responsibility / and much more.
Several of us in #steemsilvergold have other common interests in community / survival skills / sports / guns/ammo / economics / politics. The thread that binds us really is the self-worth and self-discipline to be responsible for ourselves.
SteemIT is great - but I'm here more for #steemsilvergold than anything else.

PS. I got my steem logo decal too, It's awesome, but it is too big for my Chevy Avalanche back window, which is smaller than I realized. I'll post when I put on - I need to eliminate the circle...

Here's why I think I should win the silver: (besides the fact that I Upvoted and Resteemed your post...)
My truck got hit by a douche-bag neighbors' wife who was driving without a license. I knew that he just lost his job, too. So, I didn't report it - believing that this guy was going to do me a solid by fixing the dent and my tail-light. Well, nice guys finish last - he screwed me.
Then, I got T-Boned in a Wal-Mart parking lot when I was on the job, driving a cab. It wasn't my fault, but still - dealing with an accident is never fun.
Today, I had to call the cops on my other neighbor after he assaulted me. He was in the process of tearing down my fence so that he could have more room to grow pot. Personally, I have nothing against pot - it's just that I can't have it growing on my property, and I can't have him tearing down my fence. I also can't be getting locked-up, based on being involved in either activity of growing pot or of being involved in an assault situation.
Lately, life seems to be intent on "rattling my cage," and I'm dealing with stuff the best that I can - but a bit of silver would help! ;)

Steemit is where i come for an outlet of thought and ideas that would otherwise languish unheard and unexpressed and to hear other perspectives from across the globe. Steemit is the very antithesis of fakebook and shitter, i am proud and honoured in equal measure to be able to be part of it, plus you guys (and gals) no this isnt jimmy saville) ROCK!!!!!

That's really awesome that you've already hit 900, must be doing something right! What is it about steemit that I love? I love that it's an exciting new journey for me. I'm not sure if you know it or not but I'm a disabled law enforcement officer that is close to the same age as you are. I don't have any children, only my dog that I love more than most humans lol. The reason I'm telling you this is to help you understand how much I need social interaction because I spend a lot of time by myself. That was the whole reason I started a YouTube channel, so I could have some type of human interaction while I was confined to my home for a period of time. I've met some good people on YT and I have met just as many assholes so it's a give and take thing, I guess lol.
You were fortunate that you found help when you first started. When I signed up on steemit, the people that I thought were my friends from YT turned out to be greedy assholes that didn't have the time of day for me and offered no help whatsoever, even after multiple attempts at asking. It's okay though because I believe in karma and what goes around, comes around. I eventually found someone to help guide me through the beginning maze of confusion lol.
I love the fact that you can get paid for your content on here. I've been wanting to write a book about all of the adventures I have encountered in my 12 years of service and this is a good time to start. I'm wanting to wait until I have a larger and more loyal following before I start putting all of my time and energy in to it though. I absolutely love the comment that you left us with "Everyday you are writing your own history." This is the absolute best statement I have seen since I have been on here! You're a very wise man. I see people trying desperately to pump out as much content as they possibly can, no matter if it's crap or not. To each his own and you can do whatever you want to with your account, it's your reputation not mine. That's why your comment hit home with me. You can tell a lot about people by what they post on here and I'm proud of everything that I have posted. I may not be ranked as high as the ones that started out the same time as me and ran their nose up every whales ass they could find, but I still have my pride and that means a whole hell of a lot more than a rank on a social platform. Last but certainly not least, I love meeting new and good people! It usually takes a while to develop an honest and true friendship via social media but that's actually a good thing. No longer than I have been on here, I have met some really cool people that are extremely generous. I've met a person that has offered to fly me to Canada to hang out for a few days all expenses paid! I was floored and humbled by the offer. Anyway, as you can tell, I tend to babble sometimes and get off topic lol. Congratulations again on reaching your milestone!

Congratulations on 900. Im also loving steemit and have been made to feel at home and i hope more and more new stackers and coin connoisseurs join the party. Ive noticed under the tags that #steemsilvergold has a low number of posts compared to many of the other tags but the number of comments compete with the best of em. Im going to enjoy watching everyone elses channels grow just as much as my own.
It seems to be growing very quickly, and you are right we comment a lot in #steemsilvergold

I love steemit as you can earn making you feel like what you post means something also you reach alot more people throughout the world, iv met people i never would have met on "other' social media and i love it here more than others,
I've posted and been more involved here in my short time than the 6+ years on FB as this community and others are more engaging and fun.

Congrats on the milestone! There's a lot about Steemit I like, but the #steemsilvergold community has to be my favorite. I really don't have friends or family that are into the subjects we talk about. It's refreshing to have a group to discuss ideas and keep current on events in the precious metals space.

The things I like most is that people on the whole are pretty much a friendly bunch there's hardly any trolling going on that I've seen! and anyone you could call a troll is mostly for fun no real nastiness to them.
