GOLD!!

I have always tried to set goals for myself when it comes to stacking precious metals. Goal are what works for me, I take it as a personal challenge. One thing that I have yet to do is set a Gold goal. After going through the safe last night I realized that my gold to silver ratio was lacking and it was time to set a Gold Goal.

So currently I have almost an oz of gold, Not sure what I should set my goal at. Have a look at what I do Have so far.

So we are half way through this year already and all of my silver goals have been achieved, thanks to Steemit. So know its time to set some new goals.

3 OZ OF GOLD IS THE GOAL

Man that seem like a lot considering I only have an oz of gold right now. Gold has seem to have been forgotten in my stack, its time to make its presence known.

I don't stack to get rich, I stack to prevent becoming Poor!

My largest piece is a 1/4 of an oz Queens Beast coin, that was a gift from @thedamus. I want a 1 oz coin so bad, I have had talks with @goldenarms and he says just DO IT. Everytime I go to buy an oz, I think of all the silver I could buy with $1,300 USD.

Sort:

Go for the GOLD!

I love stacking silver, but gold is the true major league!!

Go for 5 ounces Ray. You can do it.👍

🤔maybe you are right, thanks d510

Yup. 5oz is a good target to shoot for — go big or go home 😜😜😜

...but fak! I miss my dragon lofl!!! But very happy to see it in a proper “lair of riches!”

✨👊😎✨

I think one of the most beautiful Gold coins is the Austrian Philharmonic. It’s 1 oz. but thinner than other coins so it’s bigger. Or else I would just go with Sovereigns.......Beautiful 🤗

gold is good! in the UK it makes even more sense being VAT free..I sold my entire silver collection and it was a massive pain in the arse, gold however sells for a few% under spot and can be bought a few% over - and much easier to store.

How much of a loss (under spot) did you take when selling your silver?

Thanks @madstacks gomd is diffently easier to store and is a no brainer where you live.

I agree, my ratio is also out of whack, but at almost 80:1 its been hard to justify buying gold lately. Do you think you will do all 1oz pieces or continue with the fractional as well?

I think fractional will be the way, maybe 1 one oz coin.

I've been growing my gold collection gram by gram with MENE. It's slow going, but fun! 12.4 grams so far which is just under 1/2 troy oz. Worth about $500 in bullion, but with MENE gift cards and promos I've only paid about about $300. Way below spot! If you haven't already opened a MENE account, i'd be very grateful signing up using my referral code: https://Mene.com/invite/YHDwSn

@ironshield

Thanks @ironshield, I have an account with meme but have not made an order yet.

In the words of @goldmatters.... "DO IT!" @ironshield

I think I may have used your referral code when I signed up last week, hard to know considering all the referral codes for mene floating around. I still haven't bought anything but a mine the Platinum key. When you say gift cards how do you end up saving money with that?

When you sign up they give you a $5.00 gift card and when you purchase they give a $50.00. Writing a revew gives you $5 and MENE will send certificates in the mail for special occasions. I think they did a $100 for fathers day. All these cards add up fast! An amazing way to get gold and platinum below spot price. @ironshield

why bother with mene when you can get bullion cheaper?

Good question! Since MENE charges a significant markup over spot prices, why buy MENE over bullion?

Two reasons:

  • The jewelry is fantastic. More useful than bullion that you can't wear. Since the precious metals are in the form of jewelry and not bullion, MENE products have some protection from government confiscation.

  • Buying from MENE is way cheaper than buying bullion. Because they are establishing themselves, they are very generous with promo gift cards for referrals and reviews.

MENE hands you $5 off your first order to get started and then $50 off your next order. If you haven't already consider signing up here., every time you buy they hand you a $50.00 bill for your next order. No wonder people keep buying! @ironshield

My mantra is as follows, "Buy as much gold as you can afford, Buy as much silver as you can carry".............Gold is very compact, can be hidden, can be converted to jewelry, to be transported across borders. Silver is HEAVY, and until the value rises, it's HEAVY........Consider Gold, even with the ratio being out of wack.

This is a good goal to set. I buy fractional gold occasionally. It's been a tenth gold eagle or a coin of similar size. I do this if it's available at the local coin shop. It doesn't usually follow the gold to silver ratio.
I think it's a good idea to compare my current holding and get it to match the ratio. Great suggestion.
Good Luck on achieving your goal.

Are you going to try and buy 3 one ounce rounds or will you be taking it in increments?

Good point. I have a decent amount of gold. I look at it like ETH vs EOS. I have a decent amount of ETH, so buying EOS like crazy while on sale.

3 oz of gold is a great goal to have, @raybrockman, and that will be easy for you to do before the year is over! Have you seen my first year stack of fractionals that I showed recently... and I say, if I can do it, for certain you can. Stack on, my friend!

I think it'd have to be a bar for me. 1oz gold bar. There's something honest about bars. They're really growing on me.

great post

When I first started stacking gold I did it in coins and did this for years then I realized that it would be nice to be able to see the gold and enjoy it more. It was at that time that it came to me to buy gold jewelry. So now both my wife and I have a collection of jewelry(Min 18K). The 24K looks great. At the time I also remember that when they took the gold back in the 30's they did not take the jewelry.

I love gold. thx for showing.

I like your idea because it is similar to what I have been doing. I have an amount of bullion gold that is proportional to my bullion silver. I check it monthly and I act according, buying one or the other.

That's a great goal! I support this message. I still think silver is cheaper than it should be and the ratio is high, so it makes sense to buy silver, but it doesn't hurt to add a little gold. We're rooting for you!

I've been adding funny quotes that I make up at the bottom of comments. Hopefully you like the one I made up for you. :)

"They say you are what you eat and I wanted to have a heart of gold, so I ate a gold coin. I didn't get that golden heart and the coin still hasn't come out."
-themanmissinghisgoldcoin

Just do it. It's only difficult when you think of the silver you get for the same price. Don't do that. Instead take comfort in the fact it's what you really want in the end. Buy an ounce at a time, or impress yourself and go for a five-ouncer!

Beyond registration, how do i buy or brings other folks in?
