One of my favorite silver coins, is the silver Britannia. These coins have a mirror finish on them, that looks amazing.
First minted in 1997 by the Royal Mint, the Britannia has been minted every year since. Coins minted from 1997-2012 only contained .958 silver and had a limted mintage. After 2012 the silver Britannia's where minted with .999 silver and had a unlimited mintage based on demand.
Obverse side features, Queen Elizabeth II
Reverse side features the standing Britannia.
All 1oz Britannia's carry a 2 pound sterling face value. They also have a milled edge.
History and facts,
Silver Britannia's have been produced each year beginning in 1997, when silver proof set was offered. In 1998 and in all subsequent even number years the reverse design has depicted the standing Britannia figure. Beginning in 1999 and continuing in odd number years, a series of alternate non repeating depiction of Britannia have replaced the standing figure on the reverse side. Starting in 2013, the proof version of the coin will feature a different design each year, while the bullion version of the coin will always feature the classic standing Britannia. While mintage was limited prior to 2013, in 2013 and after mintage of the bullion version of the coin is unlimed bassed on demand.
The name Britannia comes from the indigenous people of Britain.
At current times and prices, if your not stacking you are missing out on a opportunity of a life time. It doesn't matter how much you stack, or what you stack, as long as you are stacking.
This sale that has been bestowed on us will not last forever, take advantage of it while it last.
Two silver rounds as proof that its me

Nice one Ray, the bulk of my silver stack is coins and Brittania's are the lions share. I love the fact they are polished so well. Shame about the Queen ruining them but hey ho!
Keep stackin dude.
Nice rounds! Keep stacking! @ironshield
Thanks and i will.
Very nice collection friend
Thanks, I like pretty well. Keep stacking.
Very nice, maybe I should grab some brittanias with my next order. I was very impressed with my Big Ben, it seems the finish on the Brittania is similar. Thanks for sharing, my friend!
You should it is a very nice coin. You should do a post on your Big Ben, woukd love to see them. Keep stacking my friend.
I really like these, Britannia looks amazing.
Agree, they do look amazing. Thanks for the visit. Keep stacking my friend.
Beautiful coins, keep stacking bud
Thanks my friend.
Raybrockman is right about "opportunity of a lifetime." I envy the person that just decided, today's the day, I start stacking silver. Because they may have timed it perfectly or near perfectly. Someone said, I would rather be a year early, than a day late. Silver is available, and on sale. This can change overnight. Stack!
Well said friend, keep stacking
Yes, time is now to purchase gold and silver. I just wrote an article decoding the economist magazine cover of 1988. A must read.

Love the Britannia's they are a great series to collect. I find the old silver content interesting, I read it was ever referred to as Brittania Silver. I've also seen the different versions but didn't realize they we release on the odd number years.
that's the core of my stack
after 5 years of stacking and flipping the collectable silver my stack building is now cost neutral
Nice Britannia's! I recently ordered my first ones, they were the 2017 coins that had the limited mintage due to some copy rite law.
Nice coins... Again. Britannias are nice, the mirror finish is clean and clear.
What is the story of your two weird objects there?
Those two rounds, are some silver that I poured myself, back when I thought it was a good idea, as you can tell by the way the look, it wasnt a good idea after all. Thanks for the visit.
Thanks... Now I get it and now you have unique objects to verify your pics . . . I try to always have the positive perspective. . .
I love these coins too man. They're very attractive! Nice!
They are VERY shinny. Thanks for the visit buddy
The £1 sterling harks back to a time when the english pound note could be exchanged for a pound of 'sterling' silver which i believe was 92.5% silver. That would be about 13.48 toz. Or at todays spot £172 + premium+VAT = £297 or £22 a coin so 22x13.48 = 297 toz , If the english pound was still backed by silver then the £2 should get you 594 toz . Now that would be canny
Plus, if you are a UK resident these coins are especially attractive because they are Capital Gains tax exempt. I.e. pay no tax on profits :)
Very nice incentive to buy them. Thanks for the visit.
I got a role of 20 of these. Silver is the best.
I have all the bullion from 1998. Its hard to get the proof cause most sets have been broken already. Its the first and only complete date run i have in my stack. Nice post buddy
The brits are gorgeous! I get them for generic once in a blue moon at the bullion store, but otherwise they carry high premiums at my lcs.
Great haul!
They are a big part of my stack as well.
Lovely Britannia coins. I have a 2007.

Here.
I think that even though the older brittania's were less pure they still had 1 ounce of silver just the coins weighed slightly more i may be wrong but i read it somewhere , i think i bought an early one and thats what the info said id have to check though :)
Yes i thought so it was a 2011 i bought
Weight (grams): 32.454
Pure silver content (grams): 31.10348
Fineness: 958.4
Dimensions: 40mm diameter X 3.1mm thick
As usual, this British Silver Britannia contains one ounce of fine Silver, but the coin itself is heavier as it contains 95.8% Silver.
My favorite also. Guys we are holding treasure from one of the greatest mints in history. Has minted gold/silver for hundreds of years, poured gold for kings, and has passed the trial of the pyx.
