What is it really worth?
I have been known to do some pretty unusual stuff, and diffently some very spontaneous stuff. Well Sunday I was sitting around looking at the 2017 and 2018 steem silver round, and thats when it hit me, How much is the steem silver round really worth?
So I looked at my wife and said, wonder what this is really worth? She replied "put it up for sale and see". So as you can see she did not help the spontaneous side of me. So off to #steemsilvergold discord channel, there was know why that I would put this up for sale on a post or anywhere else, see I knew that if I was going to release number 4 into the wild, it would have to be to a member.
So here is how I broke the Ice and started this little, I wanna see what it is worth idea.
So once I made this little one line comment, I knew the word would spread, I gave it about an hour to an hour and half and followed up with this little comment.
@thedamus was quick to start it off.
So not a bad start for 2 oz of silver, but I had another plan, I wanted to make this a tripple play and went back to the safe and pulled this beauty out!
So here was my next little comment.
Then I showed them this Picture, and at this point it was game on.
It quickly escalated and the price was moving with some good momentum.
@randomness jumped out there with a $300.00 bid, I was like, hell yeah, lets see what this baby is worth. Well as you can imagine it didn't stop there.
@matherwarn was holding the highest bid at $350.00 with less than an hour to go.
@mattclarke was lurking in the backgrounds and had to step up to give his opinion on the matter, by the way Matt I believe you are right.
11 minute mark, is when it really got crazy, and this place was full of life,
Went for $350 to $$375, then to $380, then to $420, then to $425, then to $450. And ending at $455.
@mathewwarn and @thedamus tried to sneak a last minute bid in bit it was already over.
So you might ask, why did @raybrockman do this? Well it was simple, as a community we need to now what the value was for steem silver rounds numbered below 10, now I will tell you that I think it could have went a lot higher if I had extended the time. But as an entry point, coin numbers 1 through 5 should be comparable to this same value.
So going forward, value your steem round, they are worth more than you think, its not about the silver but the community.
All 3 number 4 have been mailed and released to @collectcryptodotcom, they should have them tomorrow. Any future number 4 @collectcryptodotcom will have all rights to.

We already know what his steem handle is. Not sure why he's using a different one in Discord, but we know him well. :D
It was pretty fun to watch, just waiting for everyone to collect a number from 2017, 2018 and all 3 sizes of @pit-bullion pieces. Say #10 of all 5 kinds and sizes..... Be worth about $600-$700 in my opinion...

What an epic auction. I watched knowing I couldn't mess with these guys.
The Steem Rounds have a very low mintage. A unique niche market of "Crypto Collectibles". It would be even more intersting if there was a way to load Steem or SBD on these rounds. They would then be 'Funded'. Similar to the BTC Satori coins or LTC Lealana coins. A physical silver Steem round that is funded with Steem? Thinking outloud here ... @raybrockman
It was a lot of fun to watch, @raybrockman. I saw your initial post and couldn't believe that you were letting it go. The auction went higher than I thought it would too. I guess now we know what it's worth. Do you still have some other high numbers from the Steem Silver Round series?

I am not usually at discord and only now I read the news. Amazing auction and an amazing premium. We now have an idea of how much a low number round is worth. I said an idea because I think that it is worth more...
I find this all very interesting to say the least... After the Reset of U.S. Coinage, I might be able to buy it off #collectcryptodotcom for about 5 or 6 Dollars in U.S. Pocket Change... lol... For anyone else reading this, that's 5 or 6 Hundred Dollars in today's Dollar "Bills"...
