Interesting thesis. I know I’m a bit obsessed with BTC, but extending the analogy a bit is instructive. I agree with the premise that humans love gold out of a love for shiny objects. What’s even MORE valuable about the shine of gold is that it is timeless and immutable. The immutability/censorship resistance of BTC is a fundamental value proposition. Likewise, gold is fundamentally valuable as a “proof of work.” The, treasure and effort that it take to mine BTC is obviously quite analogous to that required to scratch gold out of the earth’s crust.
