Silver coins from the island nation of Niue are a wide range of coin designs from traditional commemorative designs to fantasy themes like Star Wars, to cartoon themes like Disney, and much more.

Many of Niue silver and Niue gold come in colorized finishes that make the coins come to life. The beautiful designs and finishes of the Niue coins make them desirable and collectible. The Niue coins are minted by The New Zealand Mint and usually come with premiums.

I am essentially a stacker and I lean towards coins with reasonable premiums. I also like American iconic designs. So when Niue came out with a line of Disney themed coin that met the above, I concluded that collecting the series will be within my goals.

The Franklin Mint does highly collectible coins and bars, and sometimes commissioned to do special commemoratives. And most often than not, their products have very high premiums. Your Mauritus coin is a piece of art.

Hollywood and Disney are very iconic of Southern Californa. And I love all of the animated films of Disney. I used to collect all the films on DVD, and I watch them often. I think that this series may go on for a long while since Disney produced a lot of characters for animated films.

Other than it is affordable, I like this one because they all have the same background design and field finish that will unify the entire collection. I hope that the NZM will continue to make them every year until all Disney characters are commemorated in silver coins. WOW, that would be a large series!
