A Historic Hand Poured Silver: Man in the Moon

It is not an everyday event that the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, and the Moon fully blocks the Sun. "The Great American Eclipse" was a sight of a lifetime. On that day, millions of people, from coast to coast across the United States saw nature's most wondrous spectacle — a total eclipse of the Sun.

On that same specific day, a single and only one Man on the Moon Silver Round was poured by MrZeke. Knowing fully the significance of the pour, I immediately purchased the silver round from him and asked that he stamp it
"The day the Moon covered the Sun, 8-21-2017"

Due to the small surface of the round,
he stamped it like so:

... then sent it to me with this note:

I am just so happy to have this one of a kind and special Man In the Moon Silver Round to commemorate the "The Great American Eclipse" of August 21, 2017.
MrZeke has poured several of these rounds; this was the one and only pour he made on 8-21-2017

A trivia....

Sharing stuff learned in grade school:
The earth is divided into two hemispheres. From the equator to the North Pole is the Northern Hemisphere. From the equator to the South Pole is the Southern Hemisphere. California, where I live, is in the Northern Hemisphere.

Here in California, when a person looks up at the full moon, he/she will see a face like a smiling snowman.

Synopsis on The Man in the Moon: On Earth we always see the same side of the moon; it orbits in perfect sync with Earth’s rotation. Dark shapes on the face of the moon have inspired folklore through the ages. In the Northern Hemisphere, we tell stories about the “man in the moon,” while our equatorial and Southern Hemisphere friends picture the “rabbit in the moon.”

Great piece and post sweetie! See you tomorrow my SSFL👊💗

Nice piece, mr. zeke does some pretty limited pours that are awesome.

Very cool piece with lots of significance! Excellent pick up.

That piece is EPIC!! I was in central Oregon for the eclipse and it was 1000x more awesome than I could have imagined! Wow, that is so cool @silversaver88.

i remember that video and Zekes pour well : ) what a great post my friend

Great score! I was up in the mountains on that day. Very excited to see what would happen even though i was North of the “full swatch zone.” We got about 70% of it though and some cool photos. The thing i remember clearly though, was that at it’s most intense, all of the nature sounds stopped. It was weird... you really don’t notice all the sounds around you until everything falls silent.
That MitM pour is a great piece!

That's a very unique piece. Congrats on being able to acquire it. It's definitely special since it was minted on the day of the eclipse. And it looks cool too!

I like this Piece. @silversaver888 ..........It looks like another Beautiful Day. I Love when Content Creators do really good postings, it inspires me............

I remember that video of him pouring that. Nice piece Saver👍

Awesome piece of silver art and as always Zeke knocks it out of the park. I think it is very cool to have a marker that represents the eclipse day! Zeke did one of these in 90% silver and it had some very interesting color to it. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Loved this post SS !!!!
