The gold Sovereign is the Royal Mints flagship coin with over billion said to have been minted. The 2017 has an additional privy mark as an acknowledgement of the 200th anniversary. Each coin is struck with 22 carrot gold to the weight of 7.988g which has a purity of 916.7 gold otaling to just under a 1/4 oz. These coins are fantastic value for money, they are always closest to spot and by far the most easy to flip when the time comes. The coins diameter is 22.05mm and are shipped in capsules from the mint. If you buy from another source, it is unlikely to arrive in a capsule.
This is one of those special coins that everybody in the UK knows. Most people will have no idea what a panda, lunar, kooks ect are, some will know what a britannia is, but everyone in the UK know's a gold sovereign is worth something. I have messed up my silver stack by buying eveything and anything i wanted, now i have a big headache when it comes time to sell and get max premium. With gold, i will try to only stack sovereigns. They cheapest to buy, easy to flip and the thought of having 25 sovereign's so i can own a full tube gives me a semi :)

I looked at 1/4 oz queens beast's but i know when i get one and knowing there will only be 10, i would need to buy the lot as and when released. Im trying to keep gold simple so i can flip it out quick. Them beast coins are really though, i will have to do with the 2oz silver versions.

I had a 1/10 AGE awhile ago and was always amazed at how small it was everytime I picked up 🤣 especially compared to an ASE or Britannia!

Pretty much, the 1886 might get a little extra depending on condition. As there are lots of these and they are very close to spot, they are always worth around spot even the older ones.
