Mareeba Rock-Wallaby
Identifying a Mareeba rock-wallaby can be difficult without the help of a microscope.
Marreba rock-wallabies are almost indistinguishable from several other Petrogale species.
They include the Sharman's rock-wallaby and the Allied rock-wallaby.
It was only in 1992 that the Mareeba rock-wallaby was declared a separate species.
Each coin contains 1/10 oz pure gold (3.11grams).
This issue was limited to a mere 1,500 units minted and getting it was like striking lottery, many might not know but for many of the recent Royal Australian Mint proof coins, you had to ballot for it online and many collectors will camp on their computer to ballot for a coin when it is released. ๐
