12-18 hr days for about 2-3 months. Live in a 5th wheel onsite if you can and pocket the per diem.
I'm getting to the point where I could do that but also the point for my first "early exit" 🤩 I can finally roll over my 401A w/o penalty and that is Job One maybe I will just retire from the rat race and settle down and STEEM all day?
🤩
haha small world!! I'm a boilermaker welder and spent 12 years fixing coal fired boilers(still my preferred work) , I'm currently in an oil refinery tho, getting different experience and knowledge. I work shutdowns all over Alberta in reality. I'm suppose to be on 6-10's too but i seem to work 12's on my scheduled day off..we'll see. It is hard to Steemit with our hours!
...omg it seems I get to go in the boiler about yearly now 😋 😎 We have an old coal burner that is slowly getting all the bad thermocouples replaced, except we never remove the old crap it just stays in the way... That outfit was just patching it up to keep making $$$$ and minimal upkeep. Very small utility company, they had 2 coal burners and now just one, plus 2 Solar fields. Great to hear from another Power Industry Professional!!! :D
Yes, Steeming is rough with this schedule.
