What's the Borax for?
You glaze the crucible with it so that it helps the silver not stick to it and pour out nicely
Recycle real junk silver, not the best coin.

I don't have any tips, but pouring silver send like a great hobby! I like watching videos of people doing it, silver is kind of mesmerizing as it Melissa and is poured! Good luck and I can't wait to see what you create!

Can't wait to see your poured silver!
Ive been trying a few things. With some scrap jewelry. I wanted to do a small hardwood mould for the bar. I couldnt get it hot enough to go molten. Some people from the interweb say to build a small furnace oit of fire brick and fireplace insulation to keep in the heat, but I thought maybe just use an acetylene torch. Keep us posted!
