Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers had a bit of a rough season last year, coming in just shy of a playoff spot despite pushing hard at the end. This year they hope to turn things around, but so far they've lost 3 games out of four, 2 of them being in overtime. In their last two games, they suffered a grueling 7-4 defeat to the Chicago Blackhawks, followed up with an overtime loss of 3-2 to the Anaheim Ducks. All in all the Flyers aren't a terrible team, and I believe they will pick it up and turn things around, but in this game, they are going up against arguably the best goalie in the league Carey Price.

The Philadelphia Flyers will be playing without Dale Weise the cause being a three game suspension in the Anaheim game, and they will be short Michael Raffl as well do to abdominal injuries.

Their 2015-2016 record was 41-27-14 with 96 points. They finished 5th overall in the Metropolitan Division.
Their record this 2016-2017 season so far is 1-2-1 with 3 points. They sit at 7th in the Eastern Division.
The Philadelphia Flyers have a solid few forwards that spearhead the charge starting with C.Giroux (with 67 points last year), W.Simmonds (with 60 points last year), B.Schenn (with 59 points last year), and J.Voracek (with 55 points last year).

The Philadelphia Flyers are an American professional ice hockey team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that competes in the National Hockey League (NHL). They are members of the league's Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference.[3] Part of the 1967 NHL Expansion, the Flyers were the first expansion team in the post-Original Six eras to win the Stanley Cup, victorious in 1973–74 and again in 1974–75.
The Flyers have had rivalries with several teams over the years. Historically, their biggest adversaries have been the New York Rangers, with an intense rivalry stretching back to the 1970s. They have also waged lengthy campaigns against the New York Islanders in the 70s and 80s, as well as the New Jersey Devils, with whom they traded the Atlantic Division title every season between 1994–95 and 2006–07, and finally, they enjoy a spirited rivalry with their cross-state brethren, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadians had a bit of a let down last year when their number one goalie was taken out of the line up but so far with Carey Price back in net, and they look absolutely solid. Montreal also traded P.K. Subban away over the offseason acquiring Shea Weber, and so far it looks to be panning out pretty good for them as he's acquired 4 points and sits at +6. They Canadians walked all over the previous two teams they've faced, beating the Arizona Coyotes 5-2, and destroying the Penguins 4-0 which is a decently impressive feat with or without Crosby. I expect the Canadians to put up some solid numbers this year provided Price stays healthy.

The Montreal Canadians will be down Zach Redmond do to a broken foot.

Their 2015-2016 record was 38-38-6, with 88 points. They finished 6th in the Atlantic Division.
Their record this 2016-2017 season sits at 3-0-1 with 7 points. They currently sit in 1st in the Atlantic Division.

The Montreal Canadians have an amazing goaltender in Price, but they also have a few good forwards leading the charge as well, M. Pacioretty (with 64 points last year), T.Plekanec (with 54 points last year), and A.Galchenyuk (with 56 points last year).

The Montreal Canadiens[note 1] (French: Les Canadiens de Montréal) are a Canadian professional ice hockey team based in Montreal, Quebec, that competes in the National Hockey League (NHL). They are members of the league's Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference.
Founded in 1909, the Canadiens are the longest continuously operating professional ice hockey team worldwide, and the only existing NHL club to predate the founding of the NHL. One of the oldest North American professional sports franchises, the Canadiens' history, predates that of every other Canadian franchise outside of football as well as every American franchise outside of baseball and the National Football League's Arizona Cardinals. The franchise is one of the "Original Six" teams, a description used for the teams that made up the NHL from 1942 until the 1967 expansion. The team's championship season in 1992–93 was the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup.[4]
The Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup more times than any other franchise. They have won 24 championships, 22 of them since 1927, when NHL teams became the only ones to compete for the Stanley Cup.[5] On a percentage basis, as of 2014, the franchise has won 25.3% of all Stanley Cup championships contested after the Challenge Cup era, making it the second most successful professional sports team of the traditional four major sports of Canada and the United States, behind only the Boston Celtics.[note 2][6][7]

How to Play

  • Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

  • Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

  • After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

  • The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

  • 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

  • 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

  • Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

  • Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

  • Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

  • @steemsports in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.

  • Please vote responsibly :).
