Jose Mourinho has been efficient in this summer transfer window. Even though the Portuguese gaffer wanted four new players for his squad and the board could only deliver three, the Red Devils certainly look like an all-new team this season. Sitting top of the table, the new signings have blended in well with the older players.

The Manchester club have been on a spending spree in the recent years and this time has been no different except for the fact that Jose knows what he is doing. Antoinne Griezmann was set to join United according to reports but with Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban, the Frenchman decided to stay which messed up United’s plans. Despite not getting hold of a winger or a wide attacking player in the form of Thomas Lemar, Julian Draxler, Alexis Sanchez or Riyad Mahrez, United still look like the team to beat this season.

The Arrivals

The Red Devils marquee signing this summer has been that of Romelu Lukaku. The towering Belgian arrived at Old Trafford for a massive fee of £76.23 million form Everton. Lukaku was sold by Mourinho when the duo were together at Chelsea but have reunited and the forward has been scoring goals every week. Victor Lindelof made the switch from Benfica to strengthen the defensive options. The Swedish international was purchased for £31.5 million.

One of the most shocking moves this summer was that of Nemanja Matic’s from Chelsea to United. The Serbian was a key member of the Chelsea squad that won the title last season but was sold to the Red Devils for £40.23 million. Certainly a coup for Jose and United. But the one player United fans have been buzzing about is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The veteran has returned to his old hunting ground after being released by the club earlier this summer and he will be a key component in their title challenge.

The Exits

Manchester United did not sell a host of players this time around as Mourinho decided to keep hold of the core of the squad that wont he Europa League. As a result, the only major exit from the club from the club is Wayne Rooney. The club legend went to his boyhood club, Everton on a free transfer after years of service at the Manchester club.

Adnan Januzaj was sold off permanently to Real Sociedad for £7.65 million while future prospects, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson were sent out on season long loans to Crystal palace and Leeds united respectively. The exciting Brazilian midfielder, Andreas Pereira was also sent out on loan to Valencia in the La Liga to gain more experience at the top level as Jose trusts him to be a big part of the first team next season onwards.

Love the live version of match.

Only Arsenal ;)

I think it's higly unlikely they will play both Zlatan and Lukaku. I still see Zlatan as a lot better player than Lukaku in the bigger games, and I expect to see Zlatan have a role in these games.

Mourinho always wins the league on his second season - As a Chelsea fan, I hope it doesn't happen - but I do expect it. Manchester look formidable as fuck this season...

Still think he wants a natural left footed winger. We chased Perisic for that very reason. However, I am more than content with the squad we have. The Defensive midfield role is now a pivotal position to win the league (Kante for Leicester and Chelsea) in the preferred 4-3-2-1 formation and I believe the Matic signing will be judged as being the best acquisition of the whole season.

With Bales situation at Real Madrid becoming more and more precarious by the day, if we can somehow entice him to come to Man Utd in January or next season.... we will be contenders for the Champions League once again.
