The 2018 NIT Tournament Final 4 is tonight. The second game of the double header takes place when the Penn State Nittany Lions play against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. It tips off at 8pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on ESPN. It will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Penn State is favored by 2.5 points and the over/under is 136 points.

Penn State is coming off of an impressive win over the Marquette Golden Eagles 85-80 last week. Forward Lamar Stevens was dynamite and scored 30 points on 14-22 from the field. Tony Carr was not too far behind with 25 points on 7-15 from the field and senior sharp shooter Shep Garner hit 5-8 from the 3 point line. The “Big 3” for Penn State combined for all but 10 of the Nittany Lions points.
Mississippi State put a beat down on the Louisville Cardinals last week when they won 79-56. It was one of their biggest wins in postseason history. Quinndary Weatherspoon was the leading scorer with 19 points and was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. He also added 14 rebounds. Aric Holman played great off of the bench and had 16 points including 2-4 from the 3 point line.

I think tonight’s game will be played a lot faster than what the experts think in Las Vegas. There is too much talent on both teams to keep this game out of the 70s. It should be a high scoring shootout and be extremely competitive as both teams have had a week off to rest and practice.
