Australia welcomes yet again one of the best middleweights of all time. Both in Strikeforce and the UFC Luke Rockhold has been able to attain, defend, and reclaim titles. He is on a mission to earn what was once his, and judging from his motivation, he may do just that.
The lean light heavyweight frame of Rockhold makes him one of the most dangerous threats at 185 pounds. The middleweight division is mostly in disarray, but Luke will always have his place in the top five rankings as he consistently dismantles gatekeepers put in front of him.

A setback to Michael Bisping in 2016 allowed Luke to rest and redo his thought process. His approach to the fight game hasn't changed, but it seemed he needed a break after becoming overtly emotional and having that emotion cost him a fight he lost by knockout to a man he'd already beaten.
The Bisping saga for Rockhold and the middleweight division is dispensed for now; in essence George St. Pierre returned to the UFC to save that division by claiming the title and vacating the spot for worthy, and waiting contenders. We must thank GSP for his undoing as now we have amazing fights set up.

Yoel Romero is one of the sturdiest threats to the belt, and although current champion (technically interim champion) Robert Whittaker has beaten him, that makes him no less dangerous to Rockhold. This is a style fight dream, two very strong grappler's who use aggression and have knockout power.
Luke will have to dodge every blow of the raging former Olympian, the beast in Romero can disable the strongest of opponents with a single punch or knee. The creativity of both men on the feet and ground will be on full display, and we can look forward to this being one of the best middleweight fights of all time.
