Tiger vs. Jack
In light of Tiger Woods’s latest comeback which will happen next week at Torrey Pines, the age old question will come up once again – Who is the greatest golfer of all time, Jack or Tiger? Although I could go on and on about each one of their career achievements, these are merely summaries of their greatest accomplishments.
Tiger Woods – Tiger is second on the list for all-time PGA Tour wins with 79. He also ranks second in major victories with 14 in 67 starts, with four Masters, four PGA Championships, three US Opens, and three Open Championships. In 2000-2001 after winning four consecutive majors, he held all 4 trophies at once. He also has 18 World Golf Championship wins.
Jack Nicholas – Jack is the all-time leader in major victories with 18, four clear of Woods, in 164 major starts. He holds the most Masters and PGA Champions victories with six and five, respectively, to go along with his four US Open and three Open Championships. He also has a record 19 runner-up finishes in majors. He ranks third on the All-Time PGA Tour victories with 73 wins.
There are a handful of great golfers that would be in the next tier - Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Sam Sneed, Ben Hogan, Phil Mickelson - but there is no mistake that these two are the only golfers that belong in the top tier of all-time golfers.

The Golden Bear has more Majors, would have been a great showdown if they met in their prime.
