Too late to upvote--I was perusing steemSTEM distilled and came across this. Am following though, so will catch you on a future nature post.

Kali is beautiful. I find the biological imperative to reproduce, not only in this species but in many, amazing. A question: of the eggs that survive, are males and females produced in equal numbers?

Also, that is very nice wife to get her fingers so close to Kali. I'm not sure I would.

hello @agmoore ...:))...i'm very happy to see that you liked my Kali.. about your question...males and females....well that's an issue bothering even us,humans....according to stats every 3 female births we get 1 male... so i guess even in arachnids kingdom, distribution between the sexes giving birth is not equal as well..i don't know which sex prevails but i'm sure it cannot be equal in numbers ...i hope to see you on my next worth-reading post!!!

I will be there...my poor kids used to get field guides as recreational reading material :)
