It is also the cheapest powered personal vehicle that is non-polluting. Governments should realize this and encourage their proliferation instead of getting in the way. But I do admit some consideration is necessary for how to safely integrate them into society.

Well said.I couldn't agree more but you need infrastructure for that.And governments mostly see ebikes as an obstacle and not as a possible solution
I can only imagine my city with many ebikes.You would see happy faces again...but who cares for that...not to mention the pollution you just said
