Reflecting on artificial intelligence and the use of robotics

Introduction

Robotics is a promising element in the modern world, we've all seen Hollywood films like Star Wars and other more science fiction, that's when we think of robotic creatures, that Although they have a certain human aspect, we know they are not human, but they impress the general public, and despite the fact that we are very familiar with this point, many people in the world are still ecstatic about this issue.

Much is talked about robots, but really that we can understand as a "robot", I in particular understand as a robot a machine designed and created by man, which can be taught and controlled by a series of computer programs . The robot can be manipulated in a self-contained way, meaning that everything the robot needs to operate is contained in the robot itself. With all this we can reflect thinking that a robot is a computer, or that a computer is a robot, well not necessarily so, but the relationship between robot and computer is that the robot can be internally composed of some elements that are the same or similar to those of a computer, as they are: chips, microprocessors and all moving parts.

What activities make robots so interesting today?

A robot usually is an analogically programmed machine with digital controls to perform jobs that are difficult, dangerous for man. Within the way in which the activities are executed we can find different types of robots, for example the robots servo controllers are able to start up or stop at any moment while performing the functions for which they have been programmed, while the robot not servo controlled they pass from one task to another in the functions for which they have been previously programmed.

It should be noted that within the different categories, there is a huge variety and programming styles, types of configuration (for example with articulated arms), types of control (for example step by step or continuous, it should be mentioned that each system has advantages and disadvantages and all are designed to fulfill the function to which they were intended.

Why use robots?

The impact that the world of computers and computer knowledge has had has been very novel, so I can say that it has had a strong impact on society, with all this being able to merge the knowledge of information technology through Computers in the use and design of robots could lead us to a way of life where the use of robots is very common.

Robots can become very popular for the simple and simple reason that has made computers so accepted today, with this we could think that if robots perform tasks of humans being machines, they would have the virtue of never get tired, they do not need to waste time to eat or drink coffee or rest, they can work twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, they will not cause sick leave either, at most a robot can occasionally malfunction due to failures in their programming or wear of the pieces.

Another reason why one would think that robots should be used is that they can work in dangerous places for men, and perform tasks that could not be carried out or executed so slowly that they would be uneconomical for companies. .

Robots in the future

Talking about the future of robots, especially in their use and existence is unpredictable, since historically we can analyze that the human being is very changing and has always evolved based on their own needs, however we can see countries that are currently promoting and encourages the use of robotics, this is the case of Japan that used a large number of robots in industrial applications. In a highly capitalist world that seeks to maximize profits and reduce costs regardless of the social benefits of the working class, a future is glimpsed in favor of the use of robots, so I think robots will continue to replace men in repetitive jobs , dangerous, low and cumbersome, and especially in the industry is where a role not so favorable for the employment of people and occupy positions of workers labor, as with the use of robots would increase the production of goods and production costs would be minimized, due to lower labor costs.

Much has been discussed this issue, some support the evolution of the use of robotics, others are not very in agreement on the issue of the number of people unemployed in the positions of workers hand, I in particular I think that if all the staff is unemployed for not needing their use due to the replacement of robots, we should evolve and fill the positions of the new labor demand that would be in response to the new demand for employees, which I believe would be in need of new computer experts and programming, experts in electronics, and finally people prepared for the use and maintenance of these machines. The whole idea in my opinion must revolve around maximizing profits in the production of goods and services using robots, in turn without affecting the people who could be unemployed. To do so, these people should be relocated and trained. to perform in everything related to the maintenance and programming of these machines.

Let's talk about artificial intelligence and its relationship with robotics

Artificial intelligence is closely linked to robotics, artificial intelligence is configured in today's world to be another promising branch of applications within the field of technology and computing. Before going into depth with the issue of artificial intelligence is necessary to understand what is considered as intelligent, since we generally consider as an intelligent person that person who has a high capacity for reasoning, there are also other qualities such as understanding certain facts quickly and demonstrate sharpness and depth of thought to be considered as intelligent, at least that is a conception that we can have to conceptualize about human intelligence, all this makes us reflect on formulating the following question:

Is artificial intelligence something like human intelligence?

Personally, I think that if there is similarity, although we must take into account the exception that with artificial intelligence we have machines programmed to simulate human behavior, that is, with AI it has not yet been possible to achieve identical machines in behavior as human beings, so the AI makes attempts that machines can reason, learn and think. I think that the evolution that artificial intelligence must have is a very difficult task, since at the moment there are robots that only try to make some activities of the human being a little easier, now the artificial intelligence must achieve that the machines ( robots) think, reason and learn just like us humans, that is the relationship that artificial intelligence has with robots, that is to say that artificial intelligence is the discipline responsible for getting robots more and more to approach the mode of to be able to think and reason just like human beings, I think it is a very difficult task but for years it was difficult for human beings to travel to space, and nowadays it is a routine task, so I think that there is no difficult task for any objective that the current technology proposes in the modern world.

The idea of building robots with cognitive capacity similar to that of the human mind is not an invention but a necessity that has come for years, however I believe that artificial intelligence is a derivation of the fifth generation computers. The most important application of artificial intelligence (AI) is to use robots to make machines use cognitive processes to look more like humans, the robot can get to explore the space that surrounds them with tactile sensations and the program that active can decide the attitude that should be adopted in certain circumstances.

Finally let's reflect on the matter if the machines can come to think

Artificial intelligence is far from being a novelty. The first attempts were only tricks to deceive people that thinking machines could be created, and for the present there are many advances but they still do not cover the objectives of creating a machine capable of having cognitive traits like those of the human being .

However, if you investigate a little about the robots, you can see certain machines that imitate these robots by means of programming, the way they mimic human gestures and activities, until now we have come to these attempts, that the robots look more like they do not act equal to human.

"Computers can, in theory, emulate human intelligence and even exceed it," warned British scientist Stephen Hawking.

In addition, he added that "unless we learn to prepare for and avoid potential risks, AI could be the worst event in the history of our civilization." It brings dangers, such as powerful autonomous weapons, or new ways for a few to oppress It could bring serious distortions to our economy. "

In reference to the analysis made by the scientist Stephen Hawking on machines and artificial intelligence, I think he should have added more details about it, if possible with scientific and argumented evidence, since what he expresses is seen as simple Leguas, which is a reflection of his own thoughts, that is, his own perspective on this matter of artificial intelligence. However, we do not know that he was pressured by major interests, where he could not give more details than a simple reflection, that is why I think that Hawking as a relevant scientist of this century would not say this on a simple whim, so I think we should pay due attention as artificial intelligence continues to evolve in order to make machines a more human being in this world, and maybe (hopefully it does not happen) is the propitious moment for the third world war)
