Good evening steemit.
Today i will like to introduce my new series of post titled"introduction to basic solar technology.
In this series ,i would like to introduce differents. major components of a solar circuit ,explain its functions and try as much as possible to make it easy to understand. So that by the end of the series ,anybody that has been following the series will be able to design and identify components of a solar system.
And also steemians feel free to drop your comments on sentences that you are not clear about and also parts that i am wrong so that i will be able to correct myself in the next post.
Before i thought of steemit as a platform for making some cash but through some users i having been able take steemit as a place where people interact and learn new things.
#LETS BEGIN:
There are some terms used in solar technologies like
DC disconnect:
The DC disconnect is a device used in controlling the flow of electricity from the pv array. It is used in system maintenance .The disconnect houses an electrical switch used in dc circuits. So the dc disconnect can be called a tap that stops water from flowing from a tank to a bucket.
#Electric Voltage:
This is the difference in the electric potential between two points. The symbol for voltage is V.
#Deep Cycle Batteries:
Batteries are vessels used for storing energy.Think of batteries as bucket filled with energy.Deep cycle batteries are lead acid batteries designed to be regularly deeply discharged using most of its capacity.Deep cycle batteries are major components of renewable energy systems.
Flooded lead acid batteries are most commonly used for solar technology ,they are least expensive but require adding distilled water to replenish water lost.
Deep cycle batteries are required to discharge 50 to 80 percent of their battery life.
Although batteries are not one hundred percent efficient, they are predictable and stable enough for reliable long-term service.
This is all for now ,keep watching out for some more post on the topic"Introduction to solar technology".
