How bullet proof armour works?

Have you ever thought how this bullet proof jacket works or what it is or how it is made so that it can even protect us from high energy bullets,Here is a perfect explanation for same.

The making of vests is based on distribution of energy over surface technique.

To understand this its easy ,here lets take a well known illustration for same.

Have u ever seen that when football kicked for goal ,the ball has very good velocity but still nets can hold that energy to it and also they are so fine that ball cannot go out of it.

In similar way bullet proof vest and bullet works,assume football nets as vests and bullet as football from above example.

The nets are so fine that it can hold the bullet into it and also at same time it doesnt deform more when bullets hits it.

The bullet proof vests are made from materials like ceramix,kevlar,plastics, metals,etc

polymer.

Reason for selection of such material:

This materials has very fime nets so that bullet cannot go into it also they are very less deformable when large energy strikes it and they distribute it over the surface of it so that it cannot penetrate into it.

Also this kevlar material and many other material are in the layer form one over the other.so it becomes a bit more stronger.

Lets take it more deep and with step by step understanding.

The energy of bullet is concentrated at one point so when it strikes the vest wore on human body at that time it actually hits it and strikes the first layer of it, during impact the energy is so high so that it actually crosses it and moves in to next one and ones it comes to third fourth layer by that time it completely loses its energy and shell is retained in the armour itself.

There may be 8-10 layers depending upon the purpose of use.

This armour are designed in a very technical manner i.e they see to it that the material during the time of impact it doesnt penetrate or deform more and be strong enough to hold it and also transfer the energy to whole jacket so that wearer doesnt feel the impact to large extent.

They,actually make a clay model and allow the model of caly to wear it and then with different guns they shoot it and after that they remove it and check the impression on clay model and accordingly they keep on adding layer until the impression is minimum and human body can hold it.

The technique is still in progress because it can only withstand bullet shot from pistol or normal rifle but for high end guns this is still in progress.

They can be used for big ones but here the case will be that they have to add the metals and plastics in more amount so that it can withstand the impact and thus which makes too heavy to use.

The jackets made from this heavy metal are use in the military where they need to protect there body from bullets that are more energetic than normal ones.This are hard core vest.

The other that the big celebrities or politician or big personalities wear is soft core one where they can actually wear it like normal cloth.
