Frank, I would be careful in going to this. If it really works you will be subjected to strange radiation. We don't want you coming back needing a platinum sponge wig like Rossi. A convincing internet video is all his supporters need. Nobody needs to be physically present to achieve Rossi's objective.

Answer

For sure, we do not want Frank at risk.

If Rossi is achieving high excess, it is likely that he is either using or thermalising the AA/SR. If excess heat is determined by way of spectroscopy, IMPO the data is completely meaningless, that is not to say that it is not producing excess, and that excess is not large, but excess should only be derived from calorimetry. This is, in my view, due to the way the AA/SR will, at a surface boundary, ionise basically anything with extreme efficiency. This will make something LOOK hot, which could then be used to claim a temperature for the bulk mass, when in fact the process, as I understand it is creating something that APPEARS hot, when it is just light/particles at surface - in addition there is a counter-intuitive cooling effect which is exactly related to the ionisation process that will fool bolometers and CCDs etc.

IMPO, distance will be the key factor. close enough to observe but as far away as possible. We know from LeClaire that SR affected trees outside his lab, but it was an extreme generator utilising material and structures very bad at interaction with AA/SR. Less extreme approaches such as those used by Parkhomov have been shown to produce SR incapable of being measurable outside 20-30cm and easily shielded by Al foil.

To protect the sensitive parts of the eyes, I would suggest UV blocking polymer safety glasses - the plastic itself should provide some protection. Safety glasses should be worn in any case!

Zetelepin noted that he and Baranov detected that his whole lab was 'filled with SR when they first LOADED their nickel with Hydrogen' so one of the most dangerous times could be at that point andnot in general operation.

Also, there appears to be a transient nature to the release that IMPO is a hysteresis type effect which maybe due to quanta re-stabilisation in the AA which may be acting in a collective or community fasion. That being said, if the reactor is run for longer, then there are increased chances of exposure to these bursts that IMPO will look something like we saw in GS5.2 'Signal' with the bulk of the photons in the very low KeV but spreading all the way up into the MeV. If the reactor is mostly talked about and then only run for a short period, the risk of dangerous exposure will be minimised.

The suggestion of Shiskin and Bikmukhametovas' research mirrors that of Hudson - the key take-away is that if you do not have Cancer, then mild exposure will possibly help guard against it and possible other ailments, however, if you ALREADY have cancer, then SR exposure will accelerate it and so I would recommend that, for Franks safety, he pays for a check-up and appropriate blood tests. If this is not possible, and even if it is, taking into consideration Franks sex and age, and in all seriousness, I would recommend he wears an aluminium foil/cling film band around his lower abdomen to protect his prostate area.
