This might be difficult for some to believe especially to those not in science field. But however, which ever field you may be, there are proven facts for this topic above and i will like to show you.
The majority of stars are much larger than the Earth. Even the Sun, which is a relatively average star, is many times the size of the Earth. The largest star is 1,800 times as large as the Sun.
Basically, the earth is very small compared to the Sun. The Earth is barely larger than some small stars in the universe. So, almost all stars are quite a bit larger than the Earth.
There are some stars called Red giants, these stars are some of the largest and long-lived stars, reaching huge sizes that are hundreds of times larger than the Sun. White dwarfs are on the smaller scale, but are still many times the size of the Earth.
Now, for us to get the point straight is to know that we are not living inside the earth but living on earth. Most times, people get confuse on where we live. Inside or on earth? Some even thought that it's inside we live which is very very wrong.
The truth is, once we have that perspective that we live inside the earth, that will make one confuse, no understanding and not believing anything being said about the solar system and its universe.
Why did i say this? I could remember a day i told some friends that "did you know that the Sun is bigger than the earth?", my friends looked at me in a funny way and replied..." how is that possible when we have the Sun enclosed in our world" one continued... "The Sun is inside the earth with us living under it. The earth has it surrounded, so it's impossible for the Sun to be bigger than the earth. Or how would that be? When something is in your world and you say that thing is bigger than your world again, how is that possible?
When my friends finished saying all these, i remembered the first thing they lacked was having the understanding that we live on earth crust and not inside the earth. This one thing they lack, if it continues, it might never help them understand anything about the universe because all they will always thought of is, we are living in an enclosed world.
I called these friends of mine and enlightened them more about this. The Sun is bigger than all planets. All planets are in orbit round the sun. Each planet revolves around the sun many days before coming back to base. Unlike our planet earth which revolves round the sun 365 or 366 days a year. The 366 days is called a leap year which is always caused by the month February being 29days instead of 28days.
Ignorant is a like disease, it's until when you are cure with a solid and genuine information that's when you will get to have more knowledge and understanding about that particular thing.
Now get the point, nobody lives inside the earth, we live on earth surface (Earth Crust - The Land). Inside the earth is filled with lot of rocks. Inside earth comprises of mantle, outer core, inner core and so on. Inside is a very hot place for mankind to survive.
When we stand on ground (earth crust), and we look at the Sky in the night, we will see many brighter stars shining. These shining stars are above the level of earth atmosphere and also above the level of the sun and other planets.
According to research made by astronomers, the distance between the earth and to the closest star (Proxima Centauri) is 4.24 light-years away. A light-year is 9.44 trillion km, or 5.88 trillion miles. We can see that's an incredibly large distance.
But distance between the earth and the sun is 92,955,807 miles (149,597,870,700 meters). Or we say 92.96 million miles.
At this point, we suppose to have understood better why majority of stars are bigger than the earth.
The distances here, had already finalized it.
However, there is a rare star type that is created in the process of star death that is smaller than the Earth. Neutron stars are the result of very large stars exploding and pushing away their outer gas layers, leaving only the internal core behind.
These stars are usually less than 13 miles in diameter, but have a very high mass. A neutron star of around 12.5 miles in diameter weighs 1.5 times as much as the Sun. Smaller neutron stars are possible, which are even more massive and dense.
The stars are incredibly far (more than 20 trillion miles) above the Solar System (the Sun and it's nine planets). So if one will launch his/her bot-rocket nearer the sun(might not be possible because of heat intensity), getting there if possible will still see stars above trillions miles away.
We can compare the differences:
Earth to Sun - 92.96 millions miles away,
Earth to the closest star - 25 trillion miles. And this is for the closest star which is "Proxima Centauri". That means the other stars are more than 25 trillions far away to the earth.
The Earth to The Sun is just Millions while The Earth to the Stars is Trillions not even in Billions. Now let's think about this, if a shinning matter is more than 25 trillion miles above our atmosphere, and yet we are still seeing the brightness of that matter in the sky at night, how about if the shinning matter comes down to earth about 100 millions miles apart, will the whole earth contain such matter? I guess not.
What i mean here is, if a star should fall from the galaxy, the Solar System(the Sun and its nine planets) would be in catastrophe.
I hope you get the message and this enlightens you?
Thank you for your time!

Yep, our planet is actually very small.
Here is a cool video about this subject
Humn! Thanks @dedicatedguy for this helpful video. It really reveals it all in a short form.
